Present

I knew divorcing that kid would be the best thing to do for her and me since if I didn't, I will get deported and two days had already passed. I needed her to sign the papers today, The papers that my father send via fax two days ago.

I didn't even need to think as I took the stairs up to the third floor and walked through the hallway to her room. I was on auto-pilot.

I reached the door, and I stood outside it for a few moments just to collect myself,  before I manned up and opened the door.

I stepped inside and closed the door quietly behind me before walking over to the window and grabbing a chair. I moved it closer to the bed. I looked down at Nowa; her eyes that look like midnight were open and shining in the moonlight.

She didn't look surprised to see me, and she didn't look angry – though she didn't exactly look thrilled either. I pulled out the divorce papers.

"I brought the divorce papers,"  I declared and she looked almost frustrated or angry at me.

I sat down and pulled a pen from my pocket as I removed the cap from the pen with my teeth.

"What are you doing?" she asked, even though she knew damn well what I was doing. I snorted.

"Removing the cap so you could sign the papers," I muttered.

"First things first," She ordered. "Why did you marry me if you want to divorce me?" She asked curiously.

I couldn't answer that. I mean I could, but I didn't know if she could handle the truth. I didn't want her to commit suicide or something.

"I figured I had a right to know," She muttered.

"I don't think you can handle it," I spoke truthfully.

Marrying her so I can get the enemy to bring back Insaf wasn't something people really wanted to hear. I mean the only reason how I knew about what happened three months ago were because I was there watching the house. I have been watching that house for the past two years.

That was why I left the Island. I left it to find her.

I looked everywhere for her and I finally found her after searching for two years, I finally found the house and the family. I finally found the house of the enemy.

The reason how I knew what happened was because of the camera I installed in the living room. I didn't see most things but I sow the terrified look in her eyes and I recognized it, it was the same terrified look that I sow women give me when I worked in the refugee camp. Most of them where raped by the enemies and so I figured that she was raped.

Nowa didn't ask me about what happened three months and she never figured out that all I sow was everything that happened in the living room and without an audio, other than that I didn't know anything.

I just concluded that she got raped since there was a man that left the house and his pants where half fallen. I wasn't near the camera that day and I never sow the things live but if I would, I would have went and kicked his ass.

Even my enemy didn't deserve to be treated like that.

When I told Nowa in the hospital that I knew what happened three months ago, she was horrified and like my father taught me, I knew to never give information without a gain.

I told her to marry me and she accepted. I think there was a secret beyond that but I didn't need to know since she already thinks that I know everything about that night.

"It isn't your problem if I could handle it or not ?!  When did you even start caring ?," She spoke with such fearlessness that I almost tripped with my words.

"What has gotten into you ?" I asked her. Why was she courageous all of a sudden.

"You, That emotionless exterior you got going on is contagious," She said and I frowned.

"Good maybe now you could stop acting like a kid," I spoke.

I loved that the fact a simple word like 'kid' had an effect on her. She loathed that word and everything I told her that she would either frown or get really angry and frustrated While all I meant by kid was a person who is full of emotions and would declare every emotion they are feeling just like a kid, beside that is what my father had taught me.

I loved to make her feel that since because of her parent, I have been feeling that way for the past four years. Her parent had made me that way, The enemy killed my best friend.

The enemy had killed too many people to even count and her parent was the reason this Island was even created.

During my two years of stalking their family, I knew she was either distant from her parent or never knew them but she had that energy inside of her, the same energy as that psychopath.

That was why I needed her away from my children, I didn't want them to get closer to her. She was the daughter of the killer that killed their father and distant them from their mother.

By that short amount of time that was less than a week, she was able to come closer to the children. First I thought that making her a nanny to them would become like a living hell to her and it was since she was a kid herself so she didn't know what to do, but I noticed her effect on them.

Meera had tried to challenge Nowa with patience so she could now if she would last ,It was what every kid who had to go through abandonment do, try to test your patience until you leave them or you can break their wall, even though Meera was still young and didn't understand what she was doing but it was something that came natural to her.

Inan on the other hand gratitude Nowa when she defended her in-front of me, making me seem like the enemy.

I wanted to make Nowa my bargaining ship but I couldn't, I feel like if she stayed any longer the kids won't be able to detach from her and even if they do, my father won't let me.

He ruined the plan, he sent me to do since he was the one that told me to go and stalk that house without telling me the reason at first but then after six months he told me what was going on after I reported to him daily what happened inside that house.

I didn't understand what kind of information my father had gotten from what I told him but I never got it, All I sow was the enemy.
