Nowa
I woke up the next morning because Dana was knocking on the door, telling me to get up. I left the comfort of my bed to open the door since I forgot that I locked it yesterday.
"Good morning," My sister greeted as I opened the door.
"Ya ya," I answered as I went back to bed.
"Come on," She insisted. "Breakfast is in a couple of minutes," She stated.
"Don't be late," She smiled to me before she closed the door after she left.
I went to get ready for breakfast. I went down to find that Faye and Sabrina weren't there. I felt relieved and I was happy I didn't have to deal with their crap the first thing in the morning.
To say that people were staring at us, as we my sister and I eat breakfast, was the understatement of the century. They whispered, pointed and gaped at us like we were on a freaking exhibit at the zoo or something. While it bugged me, it didn't even seem to register Dana. She was just eating in peace. My sister was weird.
After a few minutes, Faye and Sabrina entered the room. I immediately acted as if I wasn't looking at them and looked at my plate.
"Keep your head up, Nowa. Don't let that bitch get to you, you did nothing wrong." Dana reassured me as I gave her a sad smile.
'If you only knew who she really was,' I thought to myself after I heard Dana advise.
"I don't understand what they are doing here after what they have done yesterday," Sabrina complained, when she could no longer contain herself.
"Sabrina, c'mon," Millicent sighed, giving her a pointed look.
"What? Haven't you seen her sister and her, The nerve of some people ?" she snorted.
"Come on sit down," Millicent said with a calm voice, while putting her hand over mine on the table. "And anyone who is welcomed by Ghaith is welcomed by us."
Sabrina gave Millicent the deadliest of glares but she couldn't argue with her, Ghaith was a red line in this house except for Faye.
"No she isn't welcomed. Besides, Who is that Ghaith that you all think highly of him, and from what I hear, he is just a little bitch," Faye stated with a snarky tone.
Yeah, and so are you...
Silence fell over the table, and I looked up for my food just to find everybody looking at me. I realized then that I had spoken my words aloud.
"Excuse me?" Faye looked shocked beyond belief, as if nobody had ever stood up against her before. I saw Dana fighting a smile beside me, and from the corner of my eye, I could see that Millicent didn't even try to fight her.
"I'm sorry?" I croaked, hating myself for making it sound like a question.
"Fuck you, I don't need this" Faye spat, as she stood up from the table and walked away with her head held high. We all watched her go, and the others surprised me by not calling after her.
"I'm sorry," I said weakly. "I didn't think-"
"Don't apologize," Millicent said, patting my hand on the table. "She does this all the time. Ghaith is usually the one to give her grief for being such a bitch, and I guess she wasn't expecting someone to take his place." Dana smiled at me.
The rest of breakfast continued in the same fashion as always. After breakfast, I headed toward the bathroom in the first floor since they occupied the five bathrooms in the G floor.
