There was an emptiness
The white noise of my sleep
White washed
As silence gripped the night
My alarm clock of endless racing engines
On their 6:30am rush
That, it never came...
I won the nights tug of war
By the time the light peaked in between the shades
So I was warm
As I braved the window - wrapped in my faux bear skins
Beard a mess
Pulling back the blinds
And greeted by a vast sea of fluffy white
Staring between blinks
I breathed it in with my eyes
Smiled
And felt the peace
And then went back to bed
