Towering embankments of stone
Protect the fertile lands
They guard our home
From their height I view expansive
Seas, blue and green, stretching
And wind massive
Stirring white rimmed waves forward
To smash upon a stoic stone base
Moving forward
Inch by Inch the sea slowly creeps
A century softens
Protect the keep
Be known, still with pride they stand
Despite caustic fading
Wearing to sand
Still their promise is bravely kept
For behind their silence
We have not wept
For want of seaward fortitude
Strength through majesty and
Our solitude
May our young grow as proudly tall
And stand as long, wisely
We will not fall
