This is a dream.
I'm dreaming...
I have to be.

Nope.
And he is still laughing..

I couldn't wrap my head around the thought of him. Oliver Covet, my very best friend the one who I have known and trusted for years laughing in my fucking face after I told him how I felt about him, a simple no would have done me just fine.

He stretches out his lip muscles and laughs at my confession in the semi crowded hallway,my cheeks burning up with the feeling of embarrassment. I felt a few gazes thrown our way by people passing us by as he laughed at me in front of our lockers.

"Wow "he says finishing off his laugh "phew, you really just..." he lingers on his words a bit of sweat rising on his temples.

"You really just made my day Yvette." He says wiping his forehead, laughing once more.

I could feel my chest tighten. I clenched my fists and furrowed my eyebrows and look up at him.

"I said I like you, what is so funny about that?"

He continues laughing his eyes scrunched up. "It's just, you like me? He shakes his head chuckling.
"I don't see it. You're like my bro!" He grins lightly punching the side of my shoulder.

Bro?
Bro?!
Great. Just great.

I punch the side of his arm. Hard. He snaps back surprised. "Ow!"

I glare up at him with hands on my hips. "Asshole" I hiss.

He stares at me and the bursts out laughing. "Are you kidding me??" I almost shriek. He raises both hands up in surrender, chuckling a bit; there were small wrinkles around the edges of his eyes his ocean blue eyes staring down towards me, but his smile dropped when he saw me pout.

"Wait. You were serious?"

No shit.

My eyes widened a bit when I saw his eyebrows furrow in worry. Today I came in knowing that either: A. He says he likes me back or B. He rejects me straight out.

I wasn't expecting this dumb fuck to laugh. ugh! Okay Yvette think of something quick to make it less awkward. Anything is fine, anything.

He stretches his arms out wanting to hug me, but he looks hesitant, so he brings them back down.

Too late... it's already awkward.

"I didn't kn-"

"No! haha..." I laugh nervously, scratching the back of my head. "I..I was just" I clear my throat looking anywhere but his eyes." Got yah haha.. it was just a joke!" I finally say bringing myself to look at him trying my hardest to sound believable.

" Yvett-"

"It's nothing! It's just one of those mornings I guess." I shrug. " Don't worry about it."

"Wait, that doesn't make any-" he gets cut off by the bell.

"Look at that I'm late!... And your late. We're late.. I'll see you later! Okay? Okay.Bye!" I avoided his gaze and dashed down the hall to my class.

Today couldn't have gone any slower, lunch time finally came, my heart pounding out of my chest with every step I took. My mind clouded with scenarios on how to face Oliver later today. One idea came across that I'm seriously considering; faking my death and moving to the North Pole. Seemed like the only reasonable thing to do.

Once I entered the lunch room, I spotted Nicole as she waved at me to come over. I rushed to her swiftly sitting across Nicole.

"Hey girly!" She greets kissing me on the cheek.

"Hey." I groan dropping my head on top of my arms that were crossed over the table.

"You okay?" She questions as she opens a bag of Doritos chips.

"He laughed." My voice muffled. "I confessed to him, and he laughed."

"What? He laughed?! After all that he laughed! Does he not know how long it took me to think of that plan?! Oh he's gonna get it. " Nicole said, a little too loud, slamming her lunch tray on the table, causing me to snap out of my trance, and other kids to stare. I smile at them and turn back to Nicole. I just told Nicole how the whole ordeal went down this morning, and as you can see she sounds more mad than me, like she got rejected or something.

I grab the nape of her shirt and bring her down a little. "Shhh! why don't you let the whole world hear how I got rejected!" I let her go and all she does is cross her arms over her chest and roll her eyes.

Nicole is my bestfriend too. When I first met her, she was already friends with Oliver. At first I thought they were dating, but soon after I found out she was lesbian, because of all the flirting I received from her back then. Soon after she 'got bored of me' and now..is occasionally bisexual. At the time it was freshman year and who wouldn't have thought they were dating. Oliver had light brown hair with gorgeous blue eyes that somehow sparkled when he smiled. Nicole on the other hand had shiny blonde hair with hazel eyes which brought out her dimple on her left cheek. To sum it all up they both looked like legit angels. And as for me, I just looked really small compared to them, hanging out with two gorgeous people.

I on the other hand had curly brown hair and dark brown eyes.

"Speaking of that asshole. Why isn't he here?" Nicole asked looking around, brushing a hand through her hair.

"It's a good thing he isn't.. I really don't know where he is, I haven't seen him since the.. whole morning.. thing" I say reaching over to grab a handful of Nicole's chips and stuffing as much as I can into my mouth. Dismissing the fact that ALL morning I've been avoiding him. But its true, I haven't even seen him in the hallways, or at his locker. I'm kinda worried, what if I really scared him?Did he go home? My head is hurting of thinking too much.

"So what now? You've already made a fool of yourself in front of him, might as well tell him the truth. It makes the life of your future children easier." Nicole said with a mouth full of chips in her mouth, leftover crumbs still on the side of her cheek. Seeing her like that I've always wondered how she never gained any weight, with all that junk food she eats everyday.

"You mean it would make life easier for you." I know Nicole was a bit sick of me hiding my feelings towards Oliver. " I don't think I can even look at him after that, Nicole your good with this stuff, what should I do?"

"Well I was thinking about you know... The truth!" She states firmly.

" I thought we gave up on that idea!" I say angrily pouting at her.

She shakes her head a bit looking down at her watch, and suddenly stands up. "Look. Just tell him the truth, who knows, he might like you back". She winks at me and says. "Now hurry and get to class I'll catch up with you later."

Before I can even utter a word she waves good bye and leaves.
