"It's Rainier, the birthday celebrant!"
Kristee approached Rainier, who had just arrived at the venue.
He had plenty of guests—runway models, photographers, and producers in the industry. He was turning 34 years old.
"Ang dami pa lang tao, Kris."
"Of course, it's your special day!"
"I have a surprise for you, Rain."
"Okay, what is it?"
Kristee asked him to close his eyes. She covered his eyes with her hand and handed him a piece of envelope.
"Now open your eyes."
"Ano ba 'tong envelope? Check? Pera?"
"Haha, sira ka talaga, Rain! Hindi mo na kailangan ng mga 'yan. Just open it. Please."
There was a moment of silence.
The bar suddenly had a cold atmosphere.
Rainier slowly opened the envelope.
"F-f-flight t-t-ticket to Serendipity City?"
"Why?"
Rainier's mood suddenly changed. He looked upset with Kristee.
He could not believe what she had just given him.
It was an unexpected gift from her.
"It's about time, Rain. I'm with you on this."
For a moment, Rainier said nothing.
His fingers tightened around the ticket.
Serendipity City.
A place filled with memories.
A place he had spent years trying not to remember.
And yet, one name immediately came back to him.
