Kristee actually meant it.

Jun knew the way to one of the most enchanted rivers in their place—a hidden spot where people rarely went just to take a bath. Because of that, crowds were never really a problem. They would probably have the place to themselves, except for the occasional tourist who came there to fish.

Jun had known how to drive the jeep since his father taught him when he was just twelve years old. He handled the rocky roads like he had been driving them his whole life.

After a while, they finally arrived.

Kristee stepped down from the jeep and walked toward the river. She crouched and dipped her fingers into the water.

"Wow. It's so cold... and it looks so clean. Is it safe to drink?"

"Of course. You can drink from it. This river is clean."

Kristee smiled as she looked around.

"I think I'm in love with your province, Jun."

She meant it in more ways than one.

Perhaps she was beginning to fall in love with someone's presence beside her. Maybe it wasn't the province at all.

It was Rainier.

As someone who grew up in the city, Kristee had never experienced anything quite like this. Her vacations usually meant going out of the country, shopping, staying in hotels, or squeezing in modeling work between classes.

This was different.

There were no malls. No fancy restaurants. No internet.

Just trees, mountains, cold water, muddy roads, and a group of teenage boys acting as if they owned the whole summer.

Rainier took off his shirt before the others did.

Kristee froze for a second.

Again.

It had happened that morning at the lake, and now it happened all over again.

She quickly looked away, pretending to be interested in the river.

Okay, Kristee. Act normal.

She wasn't.

She wanted to take a picture of him.

Actually, she wanted to take several.

Rainier had a quiet kind of charm. His thick eyebrows, pretty face, and naturally pink lips made him stand out without even trying. He wasn't the loudest among them, nor did he seem interested in being noticed.

And somehow, that made him even more noticeable.
