One week in the province had already passed, and somehow, the days felt slower in the best possible way.

There were no crowded malls, no noisy city streets, no constant ringing of phones. Just the sound of birds in the morning, the rustling leaves, the occasional laughter from the old mansion, and the peaceful lake stretching beyond the fields.

That morning, they invited Angelina to go boating with them.

"Uncle, can you let Angelina go with us to the lake?" Jun asked.

"Alright, as long as you make sure she's safe," George reminded the teenagers.

"Come on, Angelina. Do you want to try fishing in the lake?" Jun hurried to her room.

"Sure. It'd be great."

They brought the carabao with them and even took the family dog along as their trusted guard. Everyone was excited to catch tilapia or bangus.

For Angelina, everything felt like an adventure.

It was her first time riding a carabao, swimming in a rural lake, and fishing from a small boat. Back in Brazil, she had never experienced anything quite like this.

The lake wasn't far from the old horse pen. Its water reflected the blue morning sky, while the trees surrounding it swayed gently with the breeze.

Everyone was having a great time.

Everyone except Kristee, who noticed that someone was missing.

Rainier.

Again.

"He's alone again?"

She looked around the lakeside before finally spotting him

She looked around the lakeside before finally spotting him.

An old oak tree stood a little farther from the others, its wide branches spreading like a natural umbrella. Rainier was lying on one of the sturdy branches, his face partly covered by a native hat borrowed from Jun.

He looked completely at peace.

The sight made Kristee smile.

There was something about Rainier's mysterious personality that kept pulling her toward him. He wasn't loud like Marco. He wasn't naturally charming like Jun. He wasn't playful like Floyd.
