Chapter 4

"Shayla!, Shayla!"

A small whisper yell became more clear as I was awaking. I shot up not realizing how bad the headache would be.

"Oww."

"Get up, Shayla!" I heard Luna's voice," You're mom is at the door!"

"I can't feel my-What!!!!!! o my gosh," I fought through the pain of the headache and stood up.

"Get these clothes on!" She threw me sweatpants and a tank top.

"Oh sh**," I looked at my body and realized I only had a bra and underwear on.

I rushed to put the clothes on and glared around the room. There were at least 15 kids passed out in the room I was in.

Once I got them on, I stopped in front of the front door which was shut.

"What happened? I don't remember anything," I questioned staring into her eyes.

"He did it again...I thought he didn't like you, I wasn't scared for you," she whispered to herself but having me over hear.

"What?"

"Wesley...he-"

We heard the doorbell ring.

"You better get going," she continued," I'll see you tomorrow."

I looked down.

"Okay..."

I walked outside, sensitive to the light.

"How was the night? did you have fun?" my mom questioned me.

"Oh too much," I said sarcastically.

We went home and she had donuts ready for me. I was happy, I needed something to eat.

"Thanks mom," I smiled and hugged her.

"Well I wanted to tell you something...you know that guy I have been dating..." she leaned against the counter. I knew where this was going. It was happening so quickly.

"Yeah...and?"

She lifted her hand and I almost choked.

There was a ring.

"Mom!"

"Yes!" she jumped up.

"I barely even know the guy, how do you get engaged to someone I haven't even approved of?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know, he asked me, and I panicked and he makes me happy."

"Ugh. Well invite him over."

"He is all ready here..." she blushed and I turned my head to see him. He didn't look very old and he kind looked like Adam Levine.

"Hello," he held out his hand for me to shake. I just crossed my arms.

"Listen...I don't want you to be fake. Be real, okay?"

I glanced at tattoos that covered his arms.

"Whats the tattoos stand for?" I asked.

"Well this one stands for sacred love. This one is for namaste and this one is for-"

"Honey...that one stands for...his son."

"-But don't worry about it! I hardly see him and I don't even know where he is, you won't have to live with him or meet him. It's all good." he interrupted.

"Um okay. Why do you have a house over the heart?"

"I-I've just wanted him to come home for the longest time...but he is 20, so I don't have control."

"Oh..." I looked away.

"Anyways, enough of that! Let's all go out!" he grabbed our hands. This guy seemed pretty good for my mom. I'm not all down for this yet, but I think I might be getting there.

When we got to the restaurant, we ordered, and awkwardly waited for our food and drinks.

"Uh..so can I see a picture of him?"

"My son?"

"Yes."

"Yeah sure," he pulled out his phone and showed me his background.

"This is one of the two I've gotten of him, when he was 6. After that he started not liking me. I...I don't even know why."

I didn't want to make this guy cry. It's terrible that he hasn't seen or heard from his son in so long.

"Your mom just...makes me not think about it so much."

I just smiled at him, not knowing what to say.

We talked about what is going to happen at the wedding and I'm guessing my mom figured I approved of it.

"Shayla..." she said to me when we arrived home. His name was John, had dropped us off and told her he would see us later.

"Will you...be my bridesmaid?"

I widely opened my eyes.

"Really?"

"Yes!"

"O my gosh, of course!" I gave her a really big hug.

I have no idea how to do that. I can barely make plans for myself let alone a wedding.

Anyways...

I'm still worried about what happened at the party. What is Luna going to tell me about Wesley?

I knew I was drunk but the last thing I remember is going to the bathroom and thats it.
