The Weird Family of Mine
I am from Christmas trees
Put up early, hand-made ornaments,
Colorful, twinkling lights, and
Decorations everywhere.
I am from mud, dirt, and grass,
From rakes and shovels,
Flower pots with blooming flowers
And sprinklers in the summer.
I am from my many "Brooks" relatives
That I never seem to remember
Their names, my grandparents,
And my sisters.
From "'Cause I said so,"
"Hurry up," "Shut up,"
"Be good," "I'm always good,"
And "I love you."
I am from macaroni and cheese,
Mashed potatoes, biscuits,
Cheeseburgers and hotdogs,
And french fries.
I am from many year books and
Photo albums in a cabinet,
Pictures on walls and shelves,
And DVD's from birth till age 4.
