chapter 16

longguo and i walked into school hand and hand. of course many people talked and of course many people came up to him but no matter what happened, i was receiving dirty looks while other looks were looks of pity. some people knew aera started the fight but were scared to speak up.

"hey, don't worry. i'll be here throughout the whole day okay? i'll protect you." longguo said showing me his killer smile. i smiled back as he held my hand tighter.

i walked into the classroom only to see aera, jina and jisung laughing and talking walking in together as well. my blood boiled, jisung was mine and only mine. i clenched my fist and walked to my seat.

"class, we have yet again another new student! please welcome yourself lad." our teacher announced as longguo walked in. the girls were automatically under his spell. he looked at me and smiled while i smiled back.

"hello! my name is jin longguo but my korean name is kim yongguk. i am chinese but i came here to study hair. please treat me well" he bowed. "um... teacher, may i sit next to eunah?" longguo asked while all the girls glared at me. she nodded.

"bye seat mate" seungmin said as he sat behind me pretending to cry. i laughed as longguo sat next to me. "annyeong eunah!" he smiled and waved which made me laugh as well.

once i was done laughing my phone buzzed twice and i looked at my pocket weirdly before taking it out.

princessjina: meet me in the garden @ beginning of lunch. i have something to say to you.
strawberrymilkkeunah: im meeting jisung at the end. pls don't let it take long.

i locked my phone and put it away and turnig my attention back onto the board. i felt tired, but i couldn't sleep in math. it was the subject i struggled the most in. before i knew it, the bell rang and everyone ran off to lunch. i packed away my things and made my way to the garden.

"jina." i said as she turned around with her eyes and nose red. "e-eunah! um.. i wanted to talk. take a seat." she said as she patted the seat next to her.

"i've been thinking.. you know, i really like you... but if jisung makes you happy, then i will let go of you. i will let you be with him and stop getting in your way. you deserve happiness and you not being happy makes me not happy. of course it'll hurt me a bit but i can get over it. i'm sorry for pulling you both apart and i'm sorry for paying aera to ruin you two. she left for daegu a few minutes ago. again, i'm really sorry." she said as she cried. i hugged her tightly.

"thank you, jina. thank you for realizing my pain. i'm sorry i couldn't return your feelings and i'm sorry i was the one who hurt you as well. i hope you find happiness soon jina. thank you again." i hugged her tighter and ran my way to the rooftop to see jisung sittinggdown on the bench.

"jisung-ah!!" i ran to him and hugged him. at first he was startled, but afterwards he hugged me back.

"eunah... jina and aera explained everything to me this morning when we walked into class. i'm so sorry eunah for not believing you and i'm so sorry for not being the best. please, give me one more chance?" he said, his eyes showed he was sincere.. but truthfully, i was tired.

"i.... i love you jisung. but i'm tired. i'm tired of constantly fighting for us and constantly getting hurt. you're like the seasons. sometimes you're hot, then warm, then chilly, then cold. i'm tired of always getting affected while you are fine. i'm tired of feeling like crap. maybe we're just parallel lines that aren't supposed to connect. i'm sorry jisung... but i have to let go of you. of us. maybe in another time, another life, we can reset and come together. but right now, i can't. and i won't." i said while the both of us cried.

i grabbed my stuff and walked down the stairs from the rooftop with tears rolling down my face.

i'm sorry jisung, i loved you and i still do love you. but it's time for us to reset and move on. please take care, han jisung. this is me saying goodbye.
