The male, who I learned is named Cody, didn't say anything while I unpacked. He just sat on his bed, playing with his phone. "Um...I'm going out, I have my key. See ya." He grunted in return and I left the room, slightly worried that he hates me. I called Rian and he told me to meet him by the Café. He showed me where that was when we walked in. "Amelia!" I whipped around, seeing Rian at the front of a large group. "H-hey." I cursed at myself for stammering. "She's cute." Remarked a boy with skunk colored hair. "Uh...thanks? I guess?" The male chuckled and Rian rolled his eyes. "That's Jack, don't mind him, he's really gay." "Hey fuckhead, I'm not gay." "Uh huh, and we weren't just making out." A male, shorter than Jack retorted. He has a fringe, covering the majority of his forehead. "And that is Jack's boyfriend, Alex. The ripped guy is Zack, the short Mexican is Vic, the taller Mexican is his younger brother Mike, the other Mexican with gauges is Tony and the Mexican with spiked hair is Jaime. Patrick is the one with the fedora, the one with pink hair is Pete, the other ripped one is Andy, afro is Joe, shorty is Brendon, giraffe is Dallon, and other shorty is Ryan." Rian introduced with a grin. "Damn that's a lot of people to remember." I blinked and began to memorize faces. "You'll get used to it. We do have some more friends, though they are out doing stuff." I rose my eyebrows in a questioning manner. "They're getting food for our Saturday movie nights. You can join if you want?" Jack announced and smiled cockily. "Sure, Cody is sort of...distant?" A few people gasped and Brendon spoke up, "You're roommates with Cody Carson?" I shrugged, not really sure why they're surprised. "Damn girl." Rian waved off anymore mentions of Cody and he beckoned for me to follow him. "Halsey says that they're waiting for us in our room." I looked at Rian in confusion. "You'll meet her and the other few in a minute." He lead everyone back to his room, 4 hallways away from mine.
"Where's your room Amelia?" Ryan asked. "Purple hall." Dallon's face lit up. "Bren, Ry and I are in that hall." I cocked my head questioning, "You guys can go three to a room?" "They're in a relationship. The three of them." I nodded and smiled at the three. We reached Rian's room and he opened the door, pushing everyone inside. "Ash! We're here." A girl with bright blue hair came out of the bathroom, she is extremely beautiful. I suddenly felt self conscious. "You must be Amelia! I'm Ashley, that's Melanie and those two boys are Max and Steven." Everhone piled in and Vic looked around for something. "Kell isn't here?" Melanie shook her head. "He's getting the movies he forgot in your room." Vic pouted and parked his ass on the floor. I sat on the floor, farthest from everyone, feeling like I didn't quite belong. "So Lia-is it cool if I call you that?" Steve asked and I nodded. "Okay so Lia, who're you rooming with?" "Cody Carson." Max, I think his name was, gasped and looked at Steven in shock. "Holy shit, how did you manage that?" I tilted my head in confusion. "The dean, Dr. Way, won't allow anyone to room with him, I have no idea why you are allowed to." I frowned and tried to think of a reason. "Maybe cause there's no open room?" Melanie shook her head. "My room is open, my roommate moved away last year." I shrugged and gave up, "I don't know, he's a total ass though. He barely even talked to me when I arrived." Ashley snorted. "Probably texting his friends, Zach Dewall, Dan Clermont, and Maxx Danziger. If you need something, those three are who you need to go to. They've got everything. Hell I even forgot an extra tampon and Maxx just had one in his backpack." I pouted slightly, "They don't seem bad." Melanie laughed. "Not until they're trying to get into your pants." I shivered at the mention of it. "So where did you come from?" I looked away and played with the hem of my shirt. "I moved from Lawrence, Kansas." I didn't really want to talk about it. "Why'd you move?" I tensed up and didn't make any eye contact. "Steven, drop it."
The door opened again and a boy with long raven hair walked in. "Finally. Kellin you took forever." He shrugged and handed Ashley the movie he brought. "Whose this?" "The newbie, Amelia." "Nice to meet you. I'm Kellin." I shook his hand, not wanting to open my mouth in fear that I'd panic. "Lia? You okay? You look pale." Alex commented. "I'm fine. Um, I'm gonna call my mom, make sure she got home in one piece." I stood up and practically bolted from the room. I didn't stop in the hallway, I ran all the way back to my room, not bothering to see if Cody was in. I flopped onto my bed and shoved my face into the duvet. "Cody who's that?" Some unfamiliar voice asked. "New roommate." "Ah, she got a name?" "I can hear you, ya know?" "Then you got a name?" "Amelia." I looked up from my pillow and stared at the ceiling. "So why did you run in?" "That's none of your business." "Ah I beg to differ." "How so?" "Roommates share secrets." "Yeah well, I'm not sharing mine." No one but my mom and I were to know. We moved here for a fresh start, mainly I needed a fresh start. It's not every day you find your best friend hanging from his ceiling.
