Thanksgiving went by like a breeze and before I could blink, I'm unpacking in my dorm, alone. Maxx texted me and said he wouldn't be back until tomorrow, same with Zach and Dan. Cody is spending the day with Frank and Gerard. And I hate being alone, so I did what first came to mind.

"Hey Lia!" Jack yelled when I walked into the cafe. "Mind if I join in? The others are still with their families." Jack scooted in his seat, Rian, Alex and Zack smiled at me tentatively. "Is Cody with his family?" The story of his sister got out quickly, everyone knew. Cody didn't mind and no one asked him about it. He misses his sister, but he's grateful no one is pitying him. "Uh yeah. Why aren't you spending today with your families?" Jack shrugged, "We all live in Baltimore, we flew back down and got here early this morning." I nodded and poured some coffee into an extra mug. "What about you?" I sipped the warm drink before answering, "I didn't spend the holiday with my mom and her boyfriend. Sean took her to Ireland and I stayed with Cody." Alex frowned. "That sucks." I shrugged, Sean usually doesn't allow me to go on trips with him. Although it's my mom's choice, she just goes with whatever Sean says.

"I saw her like 2 weeks ago. I probably won't even see her Christmas. I might spend that at home alone or with my aunt." I said with a shrug. "You can't spend Christmas alone!" By now, Rian, Zack and Alex had joined in on the conversation. "It doesn't matter. I haven't really been interested in Christmas since Simon passed away." It doesn't hurt too much when I saw it, it feels like a hard poke to the heart. "We'll make sure you get a great Christmas." Jack insisted and I shrugged, completely dropping the subject and drinking my coffee. "You ready to start classes tomorrow?" I questioned and all the boys groaned while shaking their heads. "It is so hectic around the school during Christmas. Every singer who got into the school for their voice, has to sing carols in their free time, going from door to door. There is 400 dorms in that damn school!" I gaped at Alex, who's frustration now mirrors my own. "My mom made me join for singing and my ability to play drums, piano and ukulele." I informed and Alex laughed. "Oh honey, you have to sing and play those instruments during Christmas. Every student has to play a Christmas song with his or her talent. It's Dr. Way's second favorite season." I whined, my face going into my hands. "Fuck me over a bathroom sink!" Alex giggled, hiding it behind his hand. "I've never heard someone say that." I smiled. "I always say the weirdest things." "Cody out does everyone with a new song every year." I looked up in curiosity. "He writes?" Alex nodded, a huge grin on his face. "Did you not know? Maxx, Zach, Dan and Cody are all in a band. They call it Set It Off. Last year they performed song called Tug Of War, it was awesome! I wonder what they'll be performing." My head reeled, why didn't they tell me? "Was the song last year about someone in particular?" The whole group nodded simultaneously. "Shay." I felt my stomach drop. He wrote a song about his girlfriend.

"Bye guys!" The group waved before we parted our ways. I ran to my dorm room, opening the door and flinging myself on my bed. I flipped onto my back and let out a frustrated growl. Did Cody like me the same way I like him? I did tell him how I feel, maybe wording it weirder than just flat out saying it. I'm so confused. I'm also curious, who will he write about this time?
