Julia sighed and plopped her body on the couch.
"Ughhhhhhh." She groaned. Another day of searching and she has come up empty handed. She heard the creek of a floor board and a hopeful look from a certain 5 year old.

"Hey there kiddo!" Julia quickly composed herself.

"Did you find mommy?"

She knew the answer would break her heart.

"No" She tried so hard, she really did. She has never felt so much compassion for one thing. Seeing this child all alone, it hurt her. She printed, passed out and hung posters all over town. She went to the police, but they just suggested Miss Sonny's Home for Girls. She couldn't bare to let her wither away in an orphanage. "We will find her, didn't I promise you?" She turned to see the young girl start to cry again.

She wipped Camille's cheeks with her thumb and smiled sweetly, "how would you like to come with me to go get someone?"

Camille's head darted upwards, hope flashed across her eyes. "Not mommy." Her eyes fell back to the floor. I handed her a jacket that almost fit her perfectly.

"Why do you have little kids clothes when you don't have any kids?" She asked as she zipped up the jacket. Her dirty blond ringlets bounced upon the shoulders of the tiny leather jacket.

"I actually do, I have a son, he's your age." She cleared her throat. She held out her hand for Camille to take her to the car.

The car was silent between the both of them. Julia felt the depressed aura they both carried. She flipped through the stations, hoping to find something good to play, the silence was deafening. She then heard the voice of Peggy Lee. A smiled crept onto her face as she turned up the radio. "Oh Camille honey, I'm gonna teach you a good lesson in music while you're with me!" She began to pat her fingers on the steering wheel to the rythym of the song.

"The faucet she is dripping and the fence she's fallin' down
My pocket needs some money, so I can't go into town
My brother isn't working and my sister doesn't care
The car she needs a motor so I can't go anywhere"

Camille couldn't help but laugh as Julia tooted, mimicking a trumpet with her mouth. Julia knew every word and at the last chorus she screamed "Sing along darling!"

"ManĀna, ManĀna, ManĀna is soon enough for me!" They both sang together. "Oba! Oba!" Cheered Julia, smiling at the little giggling mess in the back seat.

They pulled up to a nice looking house and Julia felt overwhelmed again. "Um, honey, you stay in the car. No matter what happens, don't leave that seat, okay?" Camille nodded, unsure of what was happening. Julia smiled at her and stepped out of the car.
