John closed the door, turned both locks then carried me to the living room whilst he started up the fireplace. He wrapped me up in a wool blanket that was just about the fluffiest thing I've ever felt in my life. It was tan in color, something which I loved in decor, and the tag read "Embedded with stress reducing fibers." Boy did I like the sound of that.

"John?" He turned to me, "Can I use your phone please?" He nodded as I got up towards the kitchen, still wrapped in the blanket, and I dialed the extension for my home. Bobby picked up on the other end. "Hello?"

"Hey dad."

"It's past curfew where in heavens name are you?"

I looked at the clock above the stove, the time was 10:24, "I know I'm sorry, something happened up the road from Marian's house so when I was walking home I couldn't get through, it's blocked by people and an ambulance. Her mom offered to let me spend the night since walking home after it clears up means walking home unsafely. I walked all the way back here to figure out what to do before I called to worry ya."

He sighed and I could practically hear him pinching the bridge of his nose. "Alright, I don't like how last second this is but we don't have a choice right now. I expect to see you at work in the morning. Stay safe, we love you."

"Love you too dad, goodnight."

"Goodnight dear."

When I hung up the phone I took a deep breath. John was waiting in the living room, fingers twiddling with the fire poker. I sat next to him and gently rubbed his shoulder. He shook me off and my hand hovered for a second. Before I could put my hand back on his shoulder he grabbed it and pulled my in for a kiss.

His other hand snaked itself around my waist as he pulled me into him. No. Our lips moved in unison, perfect for one another. No. He bit my upper lip.

"No!" I pushed away, pain in his eyes as he stared into mine. "John, I love you I do, I really do but," I took his hand and he held on tight. I started to feel a bit dizzy. "Tonight isn't the night for this, we were supposed to talk about this at strawberry fields."

"Shit!" He hissed, "I fucking forgot, jeez Cam how long have you been waiting there?"

"Since around eight," I squeaked. I was shaking, but I wasn't scared, why was I shaking?

"You're looking rather pale, love." He put his hand on my forehead, "but jeez you're clammy."

In that second John turned as pale as, well as pale as I was I suppose. He got on the floor and whispered some profanity. He was examining my leg.

"It's just a small cut John it's fine." I muttered tiredly.

"I think that's more than a little cut Cam!" He shouted. He carefully but quickly picked me up bridal style. As he ran up the stairs I noticed blood on his shirt. "John? Where did that come from?" I inquired softly.

He looked down at me worriedly. We made it to the bathroom where he placed me up on the counter. He flung open a basket full of medical stuff. I don't remember exactly what because it was then that I lifted my skirt to look at what all the fuss was about. I let out a scream causing John to jump. My whole leg was covered in blood.

"How d-did this happe-en?" I trembled through my sobs. "I just scrapped my knee on a brick!" I shook.

"You walked all the way over here after it, I'm sure it's actually alright! You just walked without touching it is all! I bet ya don't even feel it!" John tried to calm me down as he began to clean my leg so we could see the cut.

"I can't feel anything John!" He raised a brow, "My leg is numb, and my toes are numb, everything froze when you left me sitting in the cold for two hours!" I bawled. "How could you forget about me?"
