Rain

As I walked down the street I realized I didn't actually know where I was going. I looked up from my feet to see tall buildings surrounding me and my anxiety kicked in. I picked up my pace and let my feet lead the way as it seemed I had no control over them. My only hope was that they would lead me out of here and take me somewhere familiar.

As I approached a building their was a few people standing outside of it. A man stepped outside and my heart jumped into my throat at the sight of him.

"J-John?" I peeped out. He must have heard me because he turned to me and widened his eyes.

"Cam!" He smiled, and for once he looked genuinely so happy. He was older, but his eyes looked so content, not like the usual John. I ran towards him and his arms stretched outwards. Then a gun shot rang in my ears.

The sound of thunder pulled me from my nightmare. My heart was beating fast and I was sweating slightly. I clicked on my nightlight and looked at the clock on the wall, it was only 11:23 pm. I fell asleep around 9:00 and it wasn't supposed to rain tonight.

I decided to get out my dream log and write this one down while I still remembered it. As I got to the last part of the dream I stopped, who got shot? Or was it just the thunder outside? I decided to leave it out since I wasn't sure.

Another clap of thunder went along with the opening and closing of my door as a small figure ran into my room and jumped on my bed.

"Well hello there Jaqueline." I smiled as I scooped her up to sit next to me. She clung onto me as lighting lit up the room. She hated thunder storms. "Hey, don't fret." I carefully lifted her up and she wrapped her arms and legs around me. I smiled and slowly made my way down the stairs to her room. When I opened the door Julia jumped. I giggled and set Jacqui down.

"She's six ya know, she shouldn't be treated as a baby. You could have told her to leave and went back to bed." Jules stated as I sat at the foot of her bed.

"Oh yeah, well if I remember correctly, when you were six you would climb into my bed as well!" I laughed slightly and she crossed her arms.

"Yeah well, at least I don't have a diary of all my dreams! Oh Elvis! Oh Frank! Oh John!" I chucked a pillow at her and shushed her. "Aren't you a little too old for a diary?"

"It's just a dream log, it's helps me remember things for my songs, plus I only started it last summer, and since I'm still a kid until next April I can do whatever I want without bein' too old!" I snapped back, "Anyways what were you doing snooping in my room?"

"If I was fifteen I'd wanna be an adult," she ignored my question, "I would wanna drive my car right out of stinky old Blackpool and right into London!" She beamed. "I'd meet the queen! What an honor that would be wouldn't it?"

She laid back down and I laughed. I tucked Jacqui in tight so she felt secure and I kissed both of their foreheads. How blessed I was to have found this family. I went back to my room and carefully closed the door, this time locking it so Jacqui would know to stay in bed. I turned as lighting flashed outside my window and found a face staring back at me. I gasped "Winston!"

TIME SKIP!!!! I wanted to do a time slip without really just saying "oop future!" In the beginning so if you picked it up from the conversation with Jules it's a few months later. Not much has changed but it will very soon! Stay tuned folks! Also sorry for not updating much, I live in New York and Corona is really scary here. I don't live in the city but I'm rather close. My dad tested positive so my whole family was quarantined officially for 14 days, and it was terrifying. I'm safe and I don't have it I'm proud to say, so everyone please stay safe and be ready for the next few chapters!
