Jake's POV
Let's just say . . . I'm not the best person to be around right now.
It was my first day back to school in two weeks after my mom had passed away. I wasn't ready to be back yet, of course I was ready to just drop out of high school and go work at McDonalds or something. I still hadn't found an apartment and I was starting to get desperate. I needed to get out of Kylie's house, she was too tempting and I didn't want to disrespect her family by fucking her every night, which was what was happening a lot lately . . .
Kylie squeezed my hand from the passengers seat and leaned over, kissing me hard on the lips and making me forget about everything for a few minutes before we had to get out. I carefully stepped out of the car and swung my back pack over my shoulder. I didn't have my normal swag like I usually did, I wasn't as confident and no one surrounded me now. Where had my life gone?
“Hey Jake," Someone said but I ignored them and kept walking until I reached the front doors. Before I could even open the double doors to get this day over with someone's hysterical laughing caught my attention and I turned right in time to see Drey strutting over to me, almost immediately a crowd starting forming around us when he got close.
“So how's your mom doing?" Drey asked with a snicker. I clutched my fists together tightly, Kylie grabbed my arm and tried to calm me but I was already too far gone.
“What the fuck did you just say, bastard?" I spat out at him as I took a threatening step forward but he didn't flinch one bit.
“Um I'm pretty sure I just asked how your dead mother was?" He said still smirking, loud enough for everyone around us to hear. Everyone then looked at me to hear my response.
“Why the hell would you care? Why don't you just go hit an innocent girl and have another guy kick your ass, huh?"
A flash of anger crossed his face and now his fists were clinched together as well, his knuckles turning white probably mirroring mine. I would look down to see if my whole hand was white but he would probably snap and swing at me.
“I told you this wasn't over," He said suddenly smiling the creepiest smile ever, it made my blood go cold and the color drain from my face. What the hell was that supposed to mean?
I was frozen to the spot suddenly, not blinking, not breathing. I could barely hear my heart beat anymore and then I realized that he was still talking, but I couldn't hear him? Why couldn't I hear him? It was like a drummer was drumming on my brain making it echo so loudly in my head that I couldn't hear anything around me. And suddenly his fist collided with my face. The pain crashed through me as I sprawled to the ground, still looking dazed as ever.
“Now that I have your attention," Drey started. Now that I could hear again something snapped inside of me, the bastard had hit me! What the hell?! He thought he could hit me?
I watched him for a second listening to his stupid rant about how he wants me to transfer to a different school so he could be the king here and suddenly I was tackling him to the ground. I punched every inch of skin I could get in my range. I even heard something crack and he cried out in pain.
“What the hell were you saying about my mom? Huh?!" I yelled at him grabbing the collar of his shirt and lifting his face up just a little bit so I could punch his smug ass stupid face again.
He started laughing. Laughing? Who the hell would laugh at a moment like this? What the hell was wrong with this guy?
He grabbed my face, his bloody hand rubbing his blood on my cheek and pulled my ear down to his mouth.
“I . . . killed your mom . . ."
