The next day came quicker than Mel hoped for. Another morning of not feeling well had her in a sour mood. She'd cursed Raine out three times before ten am and poor Ahmad got the worst of her rage. He made the mistake of eating her fruit platter Kelsi fixed specifically for her. His actions led her to throw a hot pot fresh off the stove at his head. Luckily, Ahmad reflexes were speedy enough to dodge death being thrown at him. Kelsi wasn't in the clear either since she didn't protect her food from Ahmad. Since this morning, she's been shut in the bedroom with her babies. They were the only ones who hadn't ticked her off yet. Although, Mel wanted to spend the day with her Mammaw, she didn't think it would be in anyone's best interest to surround herself with people. Her temper was like a firecracker. One little spark will set her off.

She laid on the bed as Amandla and Cayden sat propped up with extra support from their boppy pillows, playing with their toys to keep them busy. A light knock sounded on the door before it opened, revealing Raine.

"Is it safe for me to come in?" He queried cautiously.

"Yeah." Mel responded, keeping her focus on the twins. She wasn't mad at him, just annoyed with everything and don't know why.

Raine slowly entered the room, shutting the door behind him. He sat on the other side of the bed, trapping the twins in the middle of him and Mel. "Why aren't you getting dressed? We leave in an hour."

"I'm not going."

"But your grandmother is expecting you to be there. She already called me a few minutes ago to confirm."

"Call her back and cancel." Mel adjusted her position, now laying on her side. "I don't want to be in the presence of everyone today."

Raine shook his head no. "If you don't want to go, you call her and tell her yourself. Don't make me out to be the bad guy because you're to scared to be honest."

"I'm not scared of anything." Mel became offended. "I just don't feel my best."

"You didn't feel your best yesterday, but you sucked it up and went anyway. This weekend is solely about mingling with your family and asking them to be in the wedding. You are not going to waste it by lying in bed because you woke up on the wrong side of it. If you don't feel good, pop two of those Excedrin I bought you last night and get to moving." Raine stood up, grabbing the overly excited babies. "I'm fixing to go put their clothes on. When I come back in here you better be up and moving."

Mel waited until he was out of the room and cursed him out. She hated when he got in daddy mode with her too. She didn't give birth to two babies only for him to treat her like she's one of them. But, Mel knew he was right about everything, so she got out of bed and went to get in the shower. Terribly, she wanted to soak in the bathtub since she hadn't done it in months. Nowadays, Mel didn't have the free time to pamper herself anymore. She'd be lucky enough to get a reasonable amount of time in the shower without someone crying or calling her name.

Washing up thoroughly took Mel roughly around twenty minutes since they wanted to beat Dallas traffic. She quickly dried off, moisturized her body and put on her clothes. Her hair didn't need much attention to it, but she plucked at it until she was satisfied. Raine walked in not a second later, smiling in approval.

"Now you look like somebody."

"Thanks, I guess." She rolled her eyes, smiling as well. "Y'all ready?"

He nodded, sitting at the foot of the bed. "Of course, we are. Just waiting on you."

She fluffed her hair out once more before turning around to face him. "Ok, I'm ready to go now."
