CHAPTER 04

THE BOY was once again sitting on his balcony with his eyes shut. it's been three days since he had met the girl in the book store.

even though he couldn't see her, her soft voice lingered in his head as if it was playing on repeat.

for some reason, he couldn't forget about her. there was something about her that makes him remember her.

he was eager to go back to the store; he wanted to meet her again. technically talk to her since he couldn't really see her.

he stood up from his seat and headed to the door, once he grabbed the handle; he stopped.

the boy listens as loud laughter filled the empty hallways, the familiar voices of his parents echoed the hallways.

the boy cursed softly; his parents had just arrived home from their business trip across the country.

a soft knock startled the boy as he heard the sound of his mother's jewellery clicking against each other.

"mother." the awful smell of his mother's expensive perfume filled up his nostrils, "jeongguk." the feminine voice of his mother's was heard.

"welcome home, mother." the boy spoke as his mother pulled him into her arms, wrapping them around the boy.

"how are you, darling." the boy wanted to curse at his mother to let him out of this house but he bit back his tongue.

"fine." he lied, "fine doesn't mean you have your eyesight back." the boy frowned as he heard his father's deep voice.

ever since the boy had lost his eyesight, his father had been giving the poor boy a cold shoulder.

the boy knew why he was acting like this; he was disappointed. not only because he had choose to take arts instead of business in college.

but now, he had lost his eyesight. his father practically thinks he's useless now. "father." the boy whispered.

"not now, honey." the boy listens as his father sighed before there was a slam from the door.

"I'm sorry about your father, guk. he's just worried." the boy nodded, he wanted to believe his mother's words but it seem to be unbelievable.

"rest well, darling. I'll see you tomorrow morning before you leave for busan." the boy frowned even more.

he didn't want to be disappointed, the boy was use to his parents coming back and leaving the next day again.

but it's still quite sad to see or hear them coming home, then leave again the next morning.

"alright." the boy walked towards his bed and sat down as the girl's voice slowly took over his mind once again.
