you didn't think your happiness was going to last, were you? like I said before, you don't deserve to be happy and while you're with jeongguk, I'm already one step ahead of you, like always.

I hope you enjoy these lovely pictures of your boyfriend or not.

CHAPTER 18

PEOPLE GATHERED around the long dining table, it was quiet but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence either.

the sound of spoons clicking against the glass bowls; soeun was fidgeting her spoon while chewing slowly.

she wasn't in the mood for food nor to be around anyone but it was rude to leave the table before elders so she stayed in her seat.

jeongguk sat beside her, chewing on his food, he looked like he was thinking about something.

the girl watches as jeongguk's father thanked his wife for the food and excused himself away from the table.

"are you okay, soeun?" the girl's eyes snapped over to jeongguk's mother who looked at her with a concerned look.

"yea, I just not that hungry." the girl smiled at the woman dressed in a cream coloured dress, looking beautiful as always.

"don't force yourself to eat if you can't, it's okay." the girl nodded and place her spoon down.

"thank you for the meal." the girl lowered her head into a small bow before standing up, leaving the table.

soeun walked back into her bed and shut the door, softly. she walked out onto her balcony and took a seat on the bench.

she didn't want to believe what she saw, she really didn't but the image of her sister and jeongguk kissing took over her mind.

tears started to build behind her eyelids, she didn't want to cry but her heart was aching really bad.

"oh god, stop crying." the girl wiped her tears away from her cheeks, a soft knock made the girl stood up and looked over at the door.

she watches as jeongguk walked in slowly with his cane, the girl wiped her cheeks clean and cleared her throat, hoping it would crack when she talks.

the girl rushed to help the boy to her bed and sat down in front of her, jeongguk's eyebrow were furrowed together.

"are you okay?" the girl wish she could nodded but knowing he wouldn't see it, made her nervous.

"yea." soeun cringed at the soft crack from her voice, she was hoping that he wouldn't notice it.

"you're lying." turns out her prayers wasn't answered, he heard her voice cracking; the girl let out a sigh.

"it's nothing." she mumbled, but it was loud enough for jeongguk to hear her answer.

"princess, it's something if it made you cry." the girl's heart wanted to melt at the nickname he gave but it was aching to much it didn't.

"I just thought about my mom." the girl lied, hoping he would buy it and he did as he nodded slowly.

"it's okay, I know you miss her." jeongguk pulled her into his arms, the girl bite her bottom lip to stop herself from bursting into tears.

"let it out, it's okay." those where the words she needed to hear before she completely broke down in the boy's embrace.
