CHAPTER 14

DARK CLOUDS was formed around the morning sky when soeun was woken up from her slumber by the roar of thunder through her cold and dark room.

the soft duvet felt like thin paper on the girl. she shivered slightly as wind blew through the window she left opened last night.

pushing the thick duvets to the side, the girl got out from the king sized bed and walked into the marble bathroom that was attached with her room.

wrapping the thick white robe around her petite body, her brown locks were put into a high ponytail; her plum lips were pale and her cheeks were puffy.

a knock echoed through the girl's room as the soft of rain hitting the roof became louder. "come in." the girl shouted from her bathroom.

"I brought your breakfast, miss." the girl turned her head to find charles; who was holding onto a black tray, with food placed on it.

"thank you." the girl watches as charles place the tray on her brown table and walked out from the cold bathroom with cold fingers.

rubbing her hands together to warm them up from the cold atmosphere in her room, before burying them into the pockets of her robe.

the window that was previously left opened was close, assuming by charles. the girl picked up her fruit bowl and sat on her bed.

another soft knock interrupted the girl's sweet time with her food, "come in." jeongguk walked into her room with a smile on his face.

"hey." the boy spoked, guiding himself to soeun's bed, but end up bumping into the cupboard; the boy hissed in pain.

"are you ok?" the girl guided the poor boy to her bed and sat down beside him. the boy nodded, telling the girl he was alright.

"I was wondering if you want to go on a picnic with me." a smile formed on the boy's face as he asked the girl in front of him; who's cheeks were slowly turning pink.

"I'd love too!" the girl happily exclaimed, surprising the boy with the sudden hug, the girl was that happy.

the boy left soeun's room for her to get ready while he went to his own room; meanwhile, the girl was flipping through her closet.

"aha! found you." the girl pulled out the cream coloured long sleeve floral dress and held it in front of her with a huge smile of her angelic face.

quickly changing into the dress, the girl sat in front of her mirror and did a soft natural makeup look; perfect for a picnic date on a breezy saturday.

the girl once again flips through her closet looking for a pair of comfortable sandals, after a few minutes of looking; she found them deep inside her closet.

just in time, she heard a knock on her bedroom door. "coming!" she shouted and rushed out her closet; grabbing her bag and phone on the way to the door.

jeongguk stood there by her doorway in some black ripped jeans and a white button up, the girl stared in awe at the boy in front of her.

"you know I can feel you staring right?" the girl's cheek slowly turned bright pink as she rolled her eyes, linking their arms together.

the girl lean the two of them down the stairs and over to the front door, a voice stopped the couple before they could walk out the door.

"where are you two going?" the girl held back an eye roll, her step mother was the one who stopped them. jeongguk's face showed an annoyed expression.

"none of your business, mrs.park." jeongguk's voice felt like venom as he answered soeun's step mother, clearly he had enough of her shit.

"well it's my business if me and my daughter is joining you." the girl almost choked. she watches as her step sister walked out from the living room with a smirk.

"gosh, that dress looks hideous on you." eunsoo spat out at the girl, the boy was getting angrier; if soeun wasn't holding his arm he would have snapped.

"your opinion doesn't matter to her or to me, anything soeun wears is beautiful. unlike you, you personally makes everything around you turns rotten."

the girl eyes widen at jeongguk's harsh words towards her step sister, she almost felt bad for her but mostly she felt happy that jeongguk was defending her.

"let's just go, guk." the girl mumbled softly, the boy nodded and they walked out the large door and was greeted by a smiling charles.

"hello! don't you two look ravishing today." the girl couldn't help but to smile at Charles's words.

"thank you." the girl smiled and the two of them got into the car. the car ride to the park was really comfortable and quiet.

soeun could still felt the anger coming from the boy beside her. she sighed, leaning her head down on his shoulder and slowly brushed her thumb against the back of his hand.

the girl felt the boy's tense shoulder slowly relaxed as he let of a deep sigh before place a kiss on the back of soeun's hand.
