CHAPTER 25

COLD SWEAT slowly rolled down from soeun's forehead as she shivered from the cold atmosphere around her.

the girl was mopping the floors with a high fever, her pale face got even paler than usual.

using her sleeves to wipe the sweat away, she let out a loud sneeze. the other maids looked at her with worried eyes.

"miss, why don't you go rest? we'll clean the rest." the stubborn girl refuses and shook her head.

"I'm okay." she answered breathlessly, her head as an aching mess and it seems that her vision was spinning around her.

"miss? miss!" a loud scream was heard before everything turned black around the girl.

SOMEONE was in an argument when the girl woke up from her slumber, her eyes found ms.jung's and her father, who was in his wheel chair.

and also her step mother along with her step sister behind her, the girl rubbed her eyes and sat up.

"what happened?" almost immediately, her head started to spin when she got up from her laying position.

"darling, you fainted. you have a high fever." mrs.jung stared at her with disapproved eyes.

"oh." the girl looked down and fidget her fingers along with her silky duvet. a bowl of soup was place in front of her a few seconds later.

"drink up, it'll help you feel better." the girl smiled at her father who held onto her palm tightly.

"thank you." the girl began to drink the soup slowly, a loud huff was heard before a door slammed shut.

the girl looked up to find her step sister gone, leaving her step mother glaring at her before leaving as well.

the door opened and soeun's brother walked into the room with a smile on his face and a bouquet of daisies.

soeun's face lights up as she saw her brother, mrs.jung excused herself and the girl's father before leaving the siblings alone.

"how are you feeling?" jimin took a seat beside the girl and ruffles her hair, messing it up.

the girl groaned, "I feel much better." soeun observes as her brother smiled before meeting her eyes again.

"jeongguk's in Seoul." soeun felt the air inside of her got knocked out from her lungs, her heart stopped.

"pardon?" the girl mumbled softly, staring into her brother's dark coloured eyes.

"he's here for work, he also regained his eyesight." the girl felt nervous all of a sudden and she gulped.

"when?" she was happy that jeongguk finally regained his eyesight but she was scared to see him.

"two months ago, a week after you left." the girl felt like crying, if only she had stayed with him a bit longer.

"oh god." tears slowly builds behind her eyes, threatening to fall out from her eyes.

her brother pulled her into his arms and let the girl softly cried into his shoulders, "if only I stayed for one more week." she mumbled with crying.

if only she wasn't so stubborn, he could have seen her by now. that was her biggest regret, for not listening to her heart.
