Chapter 21
Blake walked in about twenty minutes later and I was still struggling on the floor. The bruise on my foot wasn’t a bruise anymore. It was more like a bluish, purplish lump and it looked pretty nasty. I grimaced, looking at it.
“Hey Adel,” Blake greeted while tossing his car keys on the couch, in the living room.
“Hi,” I greeted back, my voice strained.
Blake circled around me, and checked my damaged foot. He raised his eyebrows and gasped loudly. “Wow! That looks bad. A freaking paint bucket caused this?” He questioned, his voice full of concern.
I nodded, and gave him a ‘duh’ look.
“Okay, hold up. I’m going to go and get some ice to put on that,” Blake said, resting his hands on the floor, and pushing himself up.
He left the room momentarily, and I took the chance to try and stand up, which failed epically. I groaned in pain and just laid on the floor, my arms and legs all spread out.
A couple of minutes later, I felt something extremely cold on my lump and shrieked. I also ended up kicking something, and that something happened to be Blake.
“Chill out Adel. It’s just some ice,” Blake said, rubbing his hands on the place I kicked him, which was a little bit under his temple.
“Sorry Blake,” I apologized, lying back down again and this time dozing off because the ice felt nice and relaxing against my lump.
~*~*~
I woke up to something poking my stomach and multiple voices whispering, “Is she alive?”
I inwardly smirked and just lifelessly laid on the floor for a few minutes, stopping my breathing.
“O my god! SHE’S DEAD! BLAKKEEE! NICKK! EVERYONE! ADEL’S DEAD!” Someone screamed, deafening my ears a little bit.
It took me everything I had not to burst out laughing. I waited about thirty seconds longer and then swiftly sat up, screaming boo like a serial killer and scaring the shit out of everyone around me.
All of the Crawford boy’s and Blake screamed and then started scowling.
I breathed in and out a little bit then burst out laughing. I was rolling on the floor, laughing like a psycho and clutching my stomach with my arms.
“O my god, you guys. That was like the funniest thing ever,” I said, taking deep breaths and wiping the tears that fell out of the corners of my eye.
“Shut up,” Everyone chorused, looking everywhere but in my direction. That made me laugh even more.
“Oh god! That. Was. Some. Funny. Chiz.” I exclaimed, pausing after every word to catch my breath.
“You know we were really worried about you,” Nick mumbled.
I rolled my eyes. “Oh were you now? Is that why you left me on the ground by myself and left?”
Regret was written all over his face, but then it quickly turned into anger. “I would’ve helped you, if you hadn’t called Blake!”
“Two is better than one,” I retorted.
“You know what? Screw this.” Nick simply responded and left the room.
I rolled my eyes, but I felt guilty and my stomach started churning. “Okay guys. I don’t need another lecture from you.”
I examined my foot and stood up, once I concluded that it was in good enough shape for me to stand up and walk.
“Thanks for all the concern towards me, but I’m fine you guys,” I said with a small smile and left the room to go and find Nick.
~*~*~
“Nick,” I softly called, standing right outside of his door. I knocked and just walked in after I got no reply.
He was lying on his bed, shirtless, tossing a basketball up in the air and then catching it. “Go away,” He said, not even acknowledging me.
I ignored him and sat on the edge of his bed with my knees against my chest and my chin resting on my knees.
I looked straight into his eyes, ignoring the beautiful eight pack he had. “Look I’m sorry Nick. I’m sorry for barging into your house randomly and I’m sorry for acting like such a stuck up bitch.”
“Whatever,” He said, but I could see his tense posture, relax.
“Seriously. I’m sorry. Can we just be friends?” I asked, feeling hopeful.
“Okay, now get out of my room,” He replied, but I could see that he wanted to say something else.
I didn’t push any further, and just left him room, feeling the guilt washing away a little bit, but my stomach was still churning for unknown reasons.
