"hey Eddie?" i say, knocking on his cabin door.

"come in"

i open the door and see eddie sitting on the edge of the bed, swallowing a pill.

i sit down next to him. "you really should stop taking these." i sigh, "they're placebos."

"it keeps me normal," he shrugs. "what do you want?"

i put my hands on my chest dramatically. "wow, eddie, I just wanted to tell you something! can't friends talk to each other?" i say sarcastically.

there goes that word. friends.

he rolls his eyes.

"i just wanted to tell you that Nancy said that you and me have to go get firewood for tonight, we're all out" i say.

"oh. okay, let's go then. let me just text bill."

"alrighty, Ed's. im standing outside."
i leave the room.

"alright I'm reddie." eddie says, walking out of the cabin.

we walk deep into a part of the woods in the back, looking for good wood.

"hey, ed's?"

"don't call me that." he snaps.

"fine- jesus. i wanna talk to you about something.." I say carefully.

"what is it?" he tilts his head.

"u-uh.. what.. what are we?" i say.

"i honestly don't know. what do you want us to be?" He asks, biting his lip and looking at me.

"me too." he looks down. "will you be my boyfriend, richard?" he looks up, with a smirk on his face.

"that was my line!" i yell at him, "but yeah. you're not my first choice, though" I lie.

"oh shut up, you're over high heels for me, Rich" he smiles, grabbing some wood.
