Chapter 1- The Reunion

Cailee's POV

I have big shoes to fill in.

Being the only daughter of Red and Marie Sebastian, mataas pa sa Mt. Everest ang expectations ng mga tao sa akin. Is not easy being me... They thought having money can make everyone happy. Pakiramdam ko nasa zoo ako, lahat naka tingin. Lahat may opinion kahit hindi ko kilala feeling nila alam na nila lahat sa buhay ko. Sa buhay naming pamilya.

I am the eldest sa tinatawag nilang first batch. The first batch of Country Club babies. Matanda ako ng 2 months kay Gabriel, anak ni Tita Kath and Tito Marcus. Sumunod na pinanganak si Khaleesi, panganay ni Aunt Lise and Uncle Renz. Then my brother Carlos, King and Jack, twins ni Tita Cheska and Tito Ace, Aegon Jon son ni Aunt Lise and Uncle Renz and si Rome panganay ni Tita Diane and Tito Tristan, sila ang magkakaedad.

Nasa Senior Highschool na kami. I decided na bumalik sa Pilipinas because my lolo died. And I can't take the grief alone sa Spain. My lola decided to live with her sons sa Tagaytay. Carlos and I have a choice, we can stay in Spain to finish our studies or we can go back.

"Cous, umuwi ka na." pangungumbinsi ni Khal sa akin.
"I am planning Couz. Pero do you think papayag si mommy na sa Baguio ako mag-aral ng Senior Highschool?" I replied to her. Nakavideo chat kami.
"Hello, ang big question is kung papayag si Uncle Red. Si Auntie Marie may chance pa."

Oo nga. May point si Khaleesi. Napaka-over, super, mega protective ni daddy sa akin. Plus Uncle Kyle and the rest of them.

"Pwede naman natin sabihin na magkasama tayo sa Brent. Umuwi kana para mapaghandaan natin ang Senior High." Pangungulit ni Khal.

And so I decided to go home. Inis na inis si Carlos dahil kailangan nya ding umuwi kasama ko. Naadik pa naman sa football angisang 'to.

It's good to be back. Nakita ko ulit ang mga friends ko. Si Jacquelyn and King, si Rome, my cousins Khal and Jon. And ang mga tinatawag naming 2nd batch. Ang mga pinsan at iba pa naming kaibigan na mas bata sa amin.

"Gab is not here." Bulong ni Khal sa akin.
"Oh...."
"Come on. Alam ko naman isa sya sa dahilan bakit umuwi ka for good." Khal rolled her eyes. She got Aunt Lise height and Uncle Renz naughtiness plus Tita Diane's tackiness.

"Where is he?"
"With Tita Trish and Tito Kian. Nasa America." She replied.
"For good?"
"I don't know." Sagot nito.

"Ano yang pinagbubulungan ninyo?" Napatalon kami ni Khal ng madinig namin ang boses ni Tita Diane sa likuran namin. "Boys yan noh?" usisa nito.
Nanlaki ang mata ni Khal. Umiiling kaming iniwan si Tita Diane.

Grabe naman ang pawelcome party ng mga Titos and Titas... Nakahanap na naman sila ng dahilan para magsama-sama.

"Cailee, what are your plans?" tanong ni Auntie Sam sa akin. Naki join kami sa table ng mga pretty namin tita. Honestly, mukha silang ka-age lang namin. Rocking in their tight crop jeans.

Gosh, I hope I can find friends like my mom have. Strong, beautiful and smart women.

"I was hoping if you can help me convince my dad..." I gave them my brightest smile.
"Oh Lord..." I heard my mom said. I heard them chuckled.
"I am looking to study at Brent Baguio." I told them.
Napasapo ng noo ni Aunt Lise. "Does Khal has something to do about this?"
"Wala mommy. Ako na naman." Sagot ni Khal.
"Wala naman Auntie and it's my decision. Manila is so crowded. And Baguio is cold and relaxing. Has a chill atmosphere." I replied. Talagang kinabisa ko na ang mga isasagot ko sa kanila.

"And... I am hoping if I can... you know... be on my own... Be a normal student..." Nakangiti ako sa kanila. Emphasizing each word.
"What do you mean by normal student?" tanong ni Tita Diane.
Natawa pati si Jack sa tanong.
"Kids, huwag kayong tumawa. Sorry half millennials lang kasi ako. Hindi ko gets ang ibang term." Tita Diane poke Jack when she continued laughing.
"No body guards from the start." I replied.
Napakurap si mommy sa akin. Walang nagreply kahit isa. It's my chance to say what I practiced.
"That's why I choose Baguio kasi nga hindi crowded unlike Manila. And people are kinda nice. So I am hoping wala ng body guards. And..." Napatingin ako sa mga mukha nila... Khal is encouraging me while Jack is trying not to laugh...so hard.
"I am hoping that I can change how I look... so I can blend in?!..." pahina ng pahina ang boses ko habang sinasabi ang mga balak ko. Hanggang naging patanong na ang dulo.

It was Tita Kaye that speak first. "And what do you propose on how to change your looks?"

"Oh... I made a research... during your time... there is a female character named Betty La Fea..." I am starting to feel their eyes on me...
"Excuse me... Hindi ko kilala si Betty La Fea. Baka time yun ng Tita Sam ninyo..." sagot ni Tita Diane. Binato ng tissue ni Auntie Sam si Tita. Parang mas mature pa yata kami sa kanila...

"Cailee, you don't have to change your appearance just to... Oh Lord... Hindi ko kayang gawin kang pangit, bata ka." Tita Kaye dramatically replied.
"Tita, I can wear a braces... and I can change the way I dress..." I reasoned out.

"You cannot hide the fact that you are a Sebastian. A pretty young lady that everybody is looking at." Tita Bella pointed out.
"That is the point Tita. I live my whole life that everybody is looking at me. I mean not our family and circle of friends but the outside. While I don't know anything about the other side. Sometimes I envy your experiences while I am listening to your stories. I need to learn."

Natahimik ang mga nakapaligid sa amin.

Jack cleared her throat. "Well, when you put it that way Cailee... I guess I needto study with them mommy... cause all our life, King and I are in home school."

"Please... mommy. Payagan nyo na ako. Kasama ko naman sa school si Khal at siJack." I made my face a little sadder.

"Oh Lord... I will talk to your dad. But this will be a long talk I tell you." Mymom looks like she swallowed bitter gourd.
"Mommy, will you talk dad too?" I heard Jack asked Tita Cheska.

Hindi ko nadinig ang sagot ni Tita Cheska. I made a mistake on looking at TitaKath. Her blue eyes reminds me of someone.

And it made my heart aching.
