Chapter 3- Version 2.0

Cailee's POV

"Dad?" Hindi ko sure kung matatawa ako sa itsura ng daddy ko. Ngayon ko lang siya nakitang speechless. He pinched the bridge of his nose and started to laugh. My mom is already laughing behind my dad.

"Cailee... anong kalokohan ba yang pinag-gagawa mo?" natatawa pa ding tanong nito.

Well, I asked the resident dentist to help me to do a fake braces that I can take off anytime. And I asked Tita Kaye to design simple blouses and dresses for me. She didn't put her name on those items because she said it's hideous at mawawalan daw siya ngkabuhayan kapag nalaman siya ang gumawa ng mga damit na pinagawa ko.

And I even beg Tita Cheska to tan me, although it makes me glow and she said tan suits me. Hindi ko na-achieve ang balak kong pagpapaitim dahil namumula lang ako tuwing nagbibilad.

And the Tita Kaye's stylist doesn't want to cut or permanently curl my hair so she put a wig on me. All in all I look like a normal student, but my parents keep laughing at my expense. So now I don't know if I look like a clown or what...

My mom took pictures and I know she sends it to her friends.

"Dad, stop laughing."
In fairness to my dad, he tried not to laugh, but his eyes are twinkling.

"Baby girl, you still look like my daughter even though you hide who you are." He said sincerely.
"Your outfit is an eye sore, anak." My mom told me.

Pumasoksi Carlos sa study room ni dad at nakita niya akong nakatayo sa harap ng parentsnamin.
Bigla itong tumawa ng malakas. "You look like a pancit canton with that hair. Sis, seriously!!! I won't call you sis if you will go to school like that."

I look at my bright yellow shoes, with my mint green stockings. I wore the mustard dress that Tita Kaye made. My hair is curly and I wore my braces and big eye glasses to hide my eyes.

"That is the point diba... I want to experience a life without the glamour and lime light." Napabuntong hiningaako. "You promised me Dad."

"We compromised Cailee. No body guards, but you will have your transmitter." My dad replied.
Tumango ako. "Same goes to you Carlos. Lahat kayo lalagyanulitng transmitter. Abby will arrive before you leave for Baguio."

"And dad, we COMPROMISED that I will live in a dorm." I said.
"Not a dorm Cailee. You will have your own Condo and that's final. Carlos will live with Khal and the twins on your Aunt Lise house." Dad said with finality. I looked at my mom and she shrugged.

Napayukoako.

"Okay Condo. But no car." I told my dad. He looked at me intently and I look back. I got my father's stubbornness according to Lola. So I won't back out with this.
"Your Condo will be near your school." He finally said. And I know I won the debate.

"Your house in Baguio dad, is it still in there?" Carlos asked my father.

I looked at my mom and she winked at me. I smiled because I know I have her on my back.

"We sell it before we went to Spain before. But it is beside Lise house. You can still see it, but I am not sure who owns it now." My dad replied. I sit beside Carlos and he pushed me nangdumapo sa may leegnya ang buhok ko.

"Dun ka hindi kita kapatid. Baduymo." He said to me. I giggled and hugged him.
"Mom, take her off. Angkatikati ng buhok nya sa mukha." Carlos tried to push me away but I gripped him hard.

Pumunta ako sa bahay nila Khal. Naabutan ko si Uncle Renz na natulala ng makita ako.
"Hi Uncle. Is Khal in her room?" I asked him.
"Cailee?" nakunot ang noo nito ng madinig ang boses ko. Tapos biglang tumawa.
"Oh Jesus... Lise... Love... Come here." Sigaw nito. Lumabassi Aunt Lise galing kitchen at tumawa ng makitaako.
"Diyos ko Cailee." Sabi nito but she hugged me anyway.
"Hindi ka nga makikilala, mabubully ka naman sa gagawin mo."

I chuckled. "Bagayba?"
"Baduy." Sagot ni Jon na palabas ng bahay. Magkikitasilani Carlos, I am sure of that.
I rolled my eyes.
"Nasakwartosi Khal. Puntahan mo na." Aunt Lise told me. She hugged me onemore time.

"Oh, por el amor de Dios ... Quítate esa horrible ropa!!!" (Oh for God sake...Take that hideous clothes off) Khal squealed when I enter her room.

I can still hear Uncle Renz laugh down stairs.
