Chapter 16- Breaking Inside

Gab's POV

I know this will never be easy... but I didn't expect it will be heart breaking.

"Bakit? Gab. Hindi kita maintindihan... Paano ako? Paano tayo?" Naguguluhang tanong ni Cailee.
"Cailee. There is no us..." I replied to her. I hide my emotions very well that I want to congratulate myself.

Her tears started to fall. Her hands that were holding my arms started to withdraw. And I want to hug her. To beg her to forgive me. To tell her that this is not what I want but I stayed my ground.

"May iba ka na ba?" she dried her tears but fresh tears started to fall again.
May iba ba ako? Hell no... I will die loving you. Pero hindi ko sinabi iyon.
"Meron." I replied instead.
"Do you love her?"
"More than my life." I replied. I love you more than my life...

Napayuko si Cailee. God I want to reach her.

"I understand." She replied like a lost child. Napatingala ako para pigilan na hindi maiyak.
"Hope she will love you. Because you deserve it." She tried to smile despite the pain that is visible in her eyes.
"I just thought what we had is enough to make you stay. I though I am enough for you." Her voice is broken. She compose herself... tried to compose herself.

"Sorry Cailee. I tried to reciprocate your feelings but I can't. I can't pretend to love you anymore." I said my last piece with so much conviction that it made her looked defeated.

I am cursing myself inside my head. I want to beat myself for causing her so much pain. For causing us so much pain. I am a dipshit son of a bitch...

"I better go." I told her. She's not looking at me when she nod. Nakatingin lang siya sa ibaba.

Pinilit kong lumakad palayo kay Cailee. Bawat paghakbang ko palayo sa gazebo, siyang pag-uga ng balikat ni Cailee hanggang sa mapaupo siya sa sahig. She's silently crying.

"Jean? Cailee?" tawag ng isang babae sa likuran ko. Yumuko ako para itago ang mga luhang kumawala na sa mga mata ko.
Tiningnan ako ng babae bago tumakbo kay Cailee. I saw Cailee hugged her friend.

Pinilit kong tumalikod ng tuluyan at tumakbo papalayo.
Tumakbo ako palayo sa mansion ng mga Sebastian. Tumakbo ako palayo para hindi ko maisipang bumalik at magmakaawa kay Cailee na patawarin ako.
Tumakbo ako ng tumakbo dahil ito lang ang alam kong paraan para hindi siya masaktan ng tuluyan.

"Gabriel!" I heard my dad at my back calling me.
"Dad." I tried to calm myself but I failed.
"Daddy." Tuluyan ko ng hindi napigil ang mga luha.
My dad hugged my like I am still 5 years old.
"I ended everything with Cailee." I said.
Tinitigan ako ng daddy ko. Nahihiya ako dahil halos magkasingtangkad na kami pero umiiyak ako sa harapan niya.
"And it hurts like hell... Hindi ko alam kung tama ang ginawa ko."
"Where is she?" Nag-aalala din si daddy kay Cailee. She is everybody's baby.
"I left her with her friend." Tumango si daddy.
Huminga ako ng malalim... "The things I said to her...The things I lied to her..."
"It's okay Gabriel. There is no easy way and we both know that. Go back to condo. Take your rest." Utos ni daddy.
"I want to go back to Batangas." I replied.
"Later... I will wait for your mama then we will go home. But for now, go back to condo and fix yourself."
Tumango ako at pumunta sa mga golf cart na nakapark. Nagpahatid ako sa condo gaya ng bilin ni daddy.

Pagdating ko sa condo, kinuha ko ang tiring brandy ni daddy at dinala sa kwarto ko. Hinubad ang jacket, tinanggal ang bow tie saka tinugga ang brandy.

Tinungga ko ng tinungga ang alak hanggang sa mamanhid ako at makalimutan kung bakit kami nasasaktan ni Cailee.

When I saw her earlier walking down the stairslooking like a true princess in her pink ball gown, I forgot for awhile why wecan't be together.
