I was starting to have a sickening feeling. As if I had done something wrong. I hurt kill graves feelings and the backlash made me almost cringe. Several moments of the feeling brought me outside the door kilgrave had concealed himself in. I knocked twice.

"Don't come in!" He said firmly. I stepped away from the door and he peaked his head out.
"What?" He asked. He closed the door on himself to keep me from seeing inside.

"Um. I wanted to apologize... I-"

"Don't worry about it," he said still in the way of the door.  I tried to see past him but he came out of the room completely and closed the door behind him.

"What's in there?" I asked.

"Nothing," he smirked quickly and began to walk away.

"Wait!" I cringed. "I want to go on that camping trip," kilgrave turned around completely caught by surprise.

"No. Don't say that," he said coldly.

"I mean it... actually," I said. But the look on his face was still in disbelief.

"No, you don't, you want to leave and well, you can't!" he said continuing to walk away. "Make sure she doesn't leave!" He shouted and a few people within the apartment appeared out of thin air to hold me back. Where was Jessica when I needed her? In that instant I was conflicted... stay here or make it back to Jessica. The pros and cons played in my head. I kinda liked it here... but I also liked being a PI with Jessica...

~~Jessica's POV~~

I guzzled another shot, then another. Slowly but surely I was finishing the whole bottle of liquor. Number one goal-- Don't throw up. I took another shot, I was already drunk but I could still remember. A loud knock came on the door.

"Go away," I said in my drunken voice.

"Jess, it's me, Trish," she called.

"It's unlocked," I said in defeat. She walked in and saw my alcoholic progress.

"Jess..." she said, she sounded disappointed.

"Don't give me that!" I barked. She contained herself.

"Where Emma?" She questioned. I took the bottle and started to drink more. Trish hurried and took the bottle from me.

"Hey!" I yelled. Trish held the bottle away.

"What the hell Jess! where's Emma?" she snapped.

"Kilgrave had her,"

"What?! Well we have to get her back,"

"Can't."

"What the hell do you mean Jess.

"I mean he's got her, held up in some fancy apartment down the the street and I can't save her!" I was starting to cry. "I can't save her..." Trish placed the bottle aside and came to my aid. I turned away from her.

"Jess... we can get her back. I'm sure he's not there the whole time... we'll watch the place, grab her while he's gone," Trish said, her idea was good but it wasn't that simple. "We can do this Jess..." she assured. I nodded

"Okay," I said.

"Okay," Trish said relieved. "I'll come back when tomorrow morning," she said beginning to walk away.

"I don't do mornings," I called after her. Trish walked back grabbing the bottle.

"I know," she smirked and took off with the alcohol.

"Dammit Trish!"

"See you tomorrow!"

~~4 Days Later~~
Emma's POV

I laid in bed reading a book. It was something kilgrave picked up front me, something undoubtedly stolen but I liked it. Some paranormal book, some love and adventure. The book was thick and new, it didn't smell old like the other books I had read. None of the books I had ever read were new, many of the pages were missing or colored in. It was hard to keep up with a story missing pages, each page was important, if not to the reader to the character itself. Kilgrave came in.

"How's he book?" He asked making conversation.

"It's really good, thank you for getting to for me," I smiled and he did too.

"Look, I have some business to attend again so I'll be gone for an hour or two. Stay out of trouble," he joked.

"No problem!" I called after him as he took off. I continued to read, the characters were about to get married but it was obvious something was gonna ruin it. A bang came from the other room! I looked up from my book. Then another! I jumped up and went to the door opening it quickly. Jeff was being thrown across the room! The hell was happening?! Jessica came into view.

"Emma! Come on let's go!" She yelled throwing another one of my body guards. My heart sunk.

"Jessica, hey out of here. He'll come back soon,"

"Emma. Let's go," she said firmly. I shook my head.

"I- I can't," I said. Jessica rushed me and grabbed me up.

"You don't mean that, you're under his influence," she gripped me tightly and pulled. I tried to pull away but she was stronger than me.

"No, Jessica you don't understand," I tried to explain.

"It's gonna be okay Emma, we'll take you home and by tomorrow you'll feel better," she said. I pulled even harder.

"Jessica!" I shouted. She stopped walking. "He's my father..." I said. Jessica swiftly hit me in the head and knocked me out.
