Kilgrave was hugging me like I was never gonna see him again.

"I'm glad you made it home, others would have suffered from your failure." Then he released. "And you told Jessica what I told you, right?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yes, that you're my father and I want to stay with you.."

"Good. Ava, you can put the knife down now!" Kilgrave yelled and continued with his business.

I felt guilty for lying to Jessica... That night my father and I didn't connect... He found about my intention of leaving and discovered that I really did have a gift.. some sort of astral projection.. whatever I did that night I saw into his life and he saw into mine. The experience had him scared it would manifest into travel... And that's what I was hoping for... I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could communicate with people outside of the apartment. I had to try...

I wandered into my room and hoped up on the bed. My book was still there, my page was lost. I tossed the book down to the floor and began what I thought was meditating. I closed my eyes and focused on what I was trying to do. Within moments I felt my back twitch, all down my spine was this sensation. When I opened my eyes I was in my room looking down at my body sprawled out on the bed. Suddenly my door flung open and kilgrave saw my body.

"Emma!" He shouted in an attempt to wake me. He turned walked into the room and began to shake my body. "Emma!" He said again. A panic washed over his face when he realized my body was lifeless. What if I was dead?! I quickly walked over to my body and suddenly I was gasping for air. Kilgrave froze for a moment then hugged me. He released slowly and the look on his face was less comforting.  "You did it again.." he was piecing it together.

"I was curious," I confessed. He looked angry for a moment then chose to walk away. I didn't question it, I just went back to work. I closed my eyes tight and put myself in the same head space as before. I felt myself become lighter and lift. I felt myself as an energy and thought about where I wanted to be. The world around me blurred and the next thing I could see was Jessica's busted door. I looked down at myself, my body was forming! The energy shifted into the shape of me. I looked completely normal... I held out my arms and twisted them to get a good look. I reached for the door knob and before I could touch it Jessica opened the door. I startled her.

"Emma?!" She seemed drunk. She immediately had me come inside.

"Jessica! I don't have time. Kilgrave is keeping me prisoner. He's threatening to kill someone if I run. I have powers and he knows it," I was talking so fast Jessica interrupted.

"I knew something was up! That motherfu-"

"Jessica! No time! I'm coming here to tell you the truth... I'm afraid... He's planning something bad."

"Just stay here! I'll protect you!" Jessica said reaching for me. He hand went right through me and she jumped back.

"My power... Pretty cool but virtually useless,"

"Not necessarily... You got here... If you somehow were physically here then you could be at both places?" Jessica came to a realization that blew my mind.

"Jessica, that could work!" I said. I gasped! I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

"What's happening?!" Jessica questioned. I couldn't speak for a moment. When my voice returned.

"They know," then my body started to disintegrate back into the energy. I rushed back to my body. My spirit came back into my body and I gasped. I looked around and found nothing. No one was around? The pain I felt on my chest began to sting. I lifted up my chest. Symbols were burned into my chest! It was spirals and small scribbles that started from the center of my chest. They  curved upward to my underarms and wrapped around my arms! I screamed out in pain as the symbols continued to burn down my arms and stop at the crease of my elbows! Guards ran into my room, without much hesitation kilgrave came in. He seemed angry for the scream and saw the damage. We both remained silent in shock of my new body art. Before all of our eyes, the strange symbols changes from bright red to black like tattoos... I sat up and pushed past the men on my way to the bathroom. I ran in and tore off my shirt. I looked into the mirror and saw the symbols differently... they weren't just scribbles... it was a note...
