The man nicely escorted me inside where I could get a good look at him. He looked like security personnel. Kilgrave stepped into view and my heart sunk into my chest.
"Join us for dinner" Kilgrave wished. Before I could object, security had began guiding me to the dinning room. At the table was a multitude of bowls and plates of food. Potatoes, vegetables, some pasta, and grilled pieces of meat. A couple of people dressed as chefs smiled from the kitchen doorway. I smirked a little then I remembered that it was rare for people around Kilgrave to smile. I sat down at the table and began to fill my plate."Where's Jessica?" I asked as I filled my plate. Jessica came into the room looking rough. She looked up and saw me.
"Emma!" She exclaimed.
"Jessica, great of you to join-" Kilgrave tried to speak but Jessica was heated.
"I told you to stay with Trish!" Kilgrave kind of melted into his chair waiting for Jess to compose herself.
"I'm sorry. Malcolm came by when you left and found the note with the address and I-"
"What note? I didn't leave anything?" Jess asked. Kilgrave perked up as if he were waiting for this exact moment.
"That would be my doing." Jessica turned to him angered.
"How on earth did you manage that!"
"...You talked to Malcom..." I realized.
"Smart girl!" Kilgrave said. Jessica sighed and poured herself a glass of wine. She poured it to the top then started to chug.
"Hey Jess, can we talk?... Privately" I said looking to Jessica who had began to pour another glass of wine.
"Of course kid. As long as thats alright with you." Jessica looked at kilgrave for a response. He simply nodded.
Jess and I both got up and went up stairs. She pulled me into a room that looked like it belonged to a depressed teenager."Where are we?" I asked.
"My room. This is my home from childhood..." Jessica said sounding distant, the wine must have gotten to her.
"What's going on here! What does he want?" Jessica didn't answer. "Jess.." I started to say, she quickly shushed me. I quickly stopped and listened. The floor boards in the room across the hall creaked. Jessica crept toward the other room. I stayed behind and watched cautiously. In a blink of an eye she was gone! I fell back in fright causing a loud thud. I froze and waited for something to happen. Kilgrave shouted from down stairs. Jessica shouted back from the room. Footsteps were coming up the steps, the time kilgrave reached the room Jessica had come out and shut the door behind her. He peered into the room I was in, I scrambled to my feet.
"What's going on here?" Kilgrave asked suspiciously.
"I thought I saw a rat..." I lied.
"A rat?" He questioned.
"Yes, something quick and fuzzy ran out and scared her," Jessica added clearing some of his suspicion.
"What were you doing in there?" Kilgrave looked to the room Jessica had exited from.
"... I just wanted to take a look." Jessicas sounded sad. Confused I changed the subject.
"Jess, about our conversation...?" Kilgrave stood on the otshirts of our conversation looking suspicious again.
"We can't go anywhere, can we at least talk?" Jess asked politely. Kilgrave huffed and went back down stairs. Jessica pulled me into her bedroom and went back to the door across the hall. Officer Simpson came into view and came into the room with us. Jessica quickly closed and locked the door.
"What is going on here?!" I whispered.
"There's a bomb in the basement," Jessica sounded pissed. My heart skipped a beat and I started to feel sick.
"Yes, its set to blow in less than twenty minutes. We need to leave now!" Simoson said sounding militant. Simpson and Jessica argued back and forth for many minutes while I sat dazed. A wave of anxiety washed over me.
"What do we do about the bomb??" I questioned. The two stopped arguing. Jessica quickly went towards the door, Simpson grabbed Jessica in attempt to stop her. Jess peeled back his hands and threw him into the bed! He got up as if nothing had happened and went for Jess again. He moved swiftly and grabbed her back. Simpson swung and punched Jessica! Jessica fell to the ground and Simpson held her down. I threw simpson off Jessica and energy expelled from my body knocking him into the closet! The burst of energy caused the fire alarm to go off and the sprinkler system engaged. I had surprised myself and was frozen, Jess jumped into actions and pulled me from the room. We sprinted down the steps.
"Go! Go! Goooo!" Jessica shouted as we jumped down the rest of the steps. Kilgrave came from the kitchen with his crew, the cooks from the kitchen and his security guard. "Bomb!" Jess screamed and grabbed me by the shirt, dragging me behind her as she spirted busting through the door. Kilgraves guard managed to throw kilgrave over his shoulder and the two chefs ran for the back entrance. The world was a blur and my feet moved at imposible speeds as I tried to keep up with Jessica's pace. Moments after we escaped the house Jess threw me down behind a neighbor's bush. Kilgrave's guard threw him into the lawn just in time. The house erupted! Shards of wood and glass went flying into the air. The night lit up as the house became a torch. My ears were ringing loudly, faint screams were in the background. Families had come out of their houses to watch the horror unfold... Where was Jessica. I tried standing up, my legs were weak and I fell onto my knees and looked around. Jessica was on her feet running to Kilgrave who was knocked out cold. She grabbed onto him and tossed him in Simpson's car. After I had thrown him into the closet I hadn't seen him. Did I kill him...? My heart had sunk into my chest. I picked myself up and looked at the mass of it. Police sirens approach.
"Emma!" I heard Jessica say faintly. I just stood there, heat radiated outward and burned my skin slightly. A hand touched my shoulder. "We have to go before he wakes up." I ran and followed Jess to the car and took off before the cops arrived.
