•Ava's POV•

Who was this person grabbing me? I turned around to see a face that seemed familiar. It wasn't one of Jack's friends, but I had seen them downtown.

He grabbed my shoulder and tried to shove me in his car. I immediately started to panic and scream. The boy put his clammy hand over my mouth. I screamed even harder and ten he pushed me up against the car.

"Listen sweetheart, if you don't shut your goddamned mouth I will shut it for you, got that?" he spoke in a raspy disgusting tone. I was terrified. He had taken his hand off of me for a moment.

"I thought you already closed it for me," I sneered. Of course, classic Ava. Someone is trying to kidnap me and I was being freaking sarcastic.

"Ahhhh, fiesty, aren't we?" he said while leaning down and kissing my neck. I started crying again and he slapped my cheek.

"Why don't you ever listen?" he asked with his mouth against my neck.

"Why don't you get the hell off of her?"

Thank god.

•Jack's POV•

"Why don't you get the hell off of her?"

The guy looked up at me. When I saw who it was my jaw almost hit the ground.

Jacob.

This guy is probably the biggest douche I have ever met. He treats girls like they're his property, even if he isn't dating them. Whether it's a slap on the butt or a disturbing comment, he always does something to get into their mind.

"Jack.. Uh, hey man! Don't worry about anything, this is my girlfriend." he lied to me. I glared at him.

"Well your 'girlfriend' doesn't look very happy. C'mon Ava, let's go."

"She's not going anywhere." He said with a smirk.

"Oh really now?" I said inching closer to them.

"Really. We were just leaving, right sweetheart?" he said whispering and kissing her neck. Ava looked at me with helplessness. She looked at me and mouthed 'help me'.

I quickly ran up to him and did would I should've done at first. Punch him in the face. He fell to the ground and Ava collapsed on me. She was so shaken up she could barely walk. I picked her up bridal style and ran back to my house. What did he do to her? How far did he go?

What if I didn't get there fast enough?

What if I just stayed inside?

All these thoughts were running through my mind as I ran inside the house. I shut and locked the door. I ran up my staircase to my bedroom and laid her down on the bed.

•Ava's POV•

Jack saved me.

He ran up and saved me.

He carried me bridal style all the way up to his house. When we got to his room, he laid me down on his bed. I had stopped crying for a second, but the moment he looked into my eyes with that much concern, I lost it again.

"Hey, hey, hey, look. It's okay now. I'm not gonna hurt you, it's just me." He said hugging me. He kept taking my hair and continuously putting it behind my ear.

"J-J-Jack," I whimpered. "I-I-If y-you didn't get there in t-time, what would've h-h-happened?" The last part was barely audible, but I knew he heard me.

"Let's not think about that, okay? Let's think about the fact that you are safe, and I'm never gonna let him near you again." He reassured me. I felt so comfortable in his arms. They were like pieces of a puzzle that fit just right. His big arms engulfed my whole torso, and my whole body shook as I wailed in his arms.

"I-I'm s-s-sorry," I stated.

"Ava, why in the world would you be sorry?"

"Because I-I overreacted. And n-n-now you h-have to see m-me l-l-like this."

"You are honestly so ridiculous it makes me a little angry." He said looking into my eyes. "Ava, I should be the one telling you that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for putting my arm around Macy, I'm sorry for letting you leave, I'm sorry for what happened to you, and I am goddamn sorry that I am utterly obsessed with you!" he finished.

I didn't know how to reply. How could I? What I needed to do wasn't with words.
