*Ava's POV*
I woke up the next morning and felt awful. Why do I feel like my head is splitting in two?
I slowly peeled off my blankets and walked to my ensuite bathroom. I went to the medicine, grabbed the Advil, and took 4 of them.
When I looked in the mirror I jumped back a little bit. My makeup was all over my face, my hair was awful, and I don't even remember putting on these pajamas last night. I looked back up in the mirror to see the lipstick I had on all over my face. I questioned why it was everywhere and then I remembered.
Jack.
The hardcore makeout session. Truth or dare. That Macy girl running off crying. Last night was freaking eventful.
I decided to take a shower in hopes of it making my hangover a little bit better. I stepped in the shower and felt the warm water surround my bare body. For a moment my headache intensified dramatically, and then it calmed down. I washed my hair and body and eventually lied down in the shower allowing the water the barely graze over my body. It woke me up enough to think that I could go see my mom without her asking questions.
It was Saturday. Our last weekend before school started. I was dreading that awful high school. Everyone seemed to have so much drama there, and I am just not that type of person. There are more important things in life than finding up if Jenny and Joey broke up or not.
I tore myself away from my thoughts and started to get dressed. I put on a pair of grey leggings, a baggy burgundy v-neck, and my white converse. I put my hair into a French braid and did some simple makeup. Concealer, nude eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, and mascara was all I wear other than lip balm. EOS and Baby Lips are my favorites.
After I was completely ready, I ran downstairs to greet my mother when I realized the house was empty. I ran to the stove where there was a note and $30.
Ava-
I had to run in to work for a last minute meeting. Here is some money if you decide to go out. Have some fun, sweetheart!!
Love you,
Mom
I swear, my mom thinks I stay home and stare at the color beige for 12 hours a day. If she thinks I do nothing, she should've seen what I was doing last night. She might have a change of thought after that.
I decided to walk downtown. I was going to call Lacey, but I decided not to. I felt like being alone. Is that weird?
I lived two blocks away from the edge of downtown in an upper class neighborhood called Saddle Run. Are you serious? That's what someone decided to name a neighborhood?
After I got out of the subdivision I walked down Main Street. This took me straight to the café that I saw Jack at yesterday.
Coffee always cures my hangovers, so I went and ordered an iced mocha and then sat down. I was on my phone for a few minutes checking my social media when I saw him out of the corner of my eye.
He didn't see me, and I didn't want him to. He looked adorable focused on whatever he was doing.
It was Jack. He had his silver MacBook Pro at a tiny table. There were black glasses sitting at the brim of his nose, and he seemed so concentrated on what he was doing. All of a sudden he sighed, looked up, and took a sip of his coffee. Is it weird that I think he looked hot even when he drank something?
I was daydreaming so much that I didn't even realize he was looking at me. He quickly took off his glasses and blushed. I guess he was embarrassed of them. He stood up from his spot and walked over.
I looked down. My coffee was sitting in front of me as if it appeared by magic. How long was I staring at him?
"Hey," Jack said warmly.
"Hi," I replied. "How are you?"
"Good, kind of stressing about stupid college stuff, but that's it. How about you?"
"One word. Hangover." I said blatantly. Jack laughed at me and I joined along. I took that moment to memorize the way his nose crinkled when he laughed. God, this boy has me obsessed and I barely know anything about him.
"Really?" he asked. "You got that drunk?"
I laughed. "No. I could probably take a small sip of anything and be wasted."
Jack smirked and giggled to himself. "That's kinda cute, actually." he almost whispered.
"Really?" I smiled and could feel my cheeks turning crimson.
"Really," he said giving me a wink.

After we talked in the coffee shop for what seemed like hours, Jack asked me if I wanted to come back to his house to hang out with him and some friends. I quickly agreed, and we were on our way. We drove into a neighborhood that was all too familiar.
"You live in Saddle Run?!" I asked.
"Yeah, do you know someone else who does?" he asked curiously.
"Uhh, well I do!" I squealed. A big smile appeared on his face.
"Really?! Where?!"
I showed him where I lived and we figured out that he lives on a street connected to mine. It was legitimately a 5 minute walk. I was so excited.
When we arrived at his house, it looked very familiar to my house on the outside. All of the houses looked basically the same in the whole neighborhood though, so it was really hard to tell.
We got out of the car and walked up to the front door. Right when we were about to walk in, Jack stopped me.
"Okay, one thing before we go in." he said looking a little panicked. Before he continued he bit his lip in deep thought. It was hot.
"Jack?" I asked quietly. He looked up at me.
"My mom can be a little... Uhh, overbearing. Like she will probably think you're my girlfriend as all this stuff so if she makes you uncomfortable, just tell me, okay?" He finished with a concerned look. I giggled and looked in to his eyes.
"I am positive that everything will be fine. Don't. Worry."

The whole gang was sitting in the basement. Jack, JJ, Sam, me, a few others I wasn't familiar with, and Macy. The whole time we were talking Macy kept giving me an awful glare. Did I do something? Last time I checked, I had never said a word to her in my life. I tried to ignore her and stay in the conversation with the guys. I think Jack could tell that was getting tense, so he immediately put his arm around me. I relaxed and took a few breaths and looked around. She was gone.

WELL WELL WELL. CLIFFHANGER. I decided to make a super long chapter since I haven't been able to update. I have been trying to go in to more detail with some things, because as I was reading back through I realized that the whole story seemed really rushed. I don't want it to seem like everything is, because it isn't supposed to, so if you are getting that vibe still after this chapter, please comment. :-)
Also, if you have any suggestions or ideas or comments or jokes or puns or you see a mistake plead please comment because it makes me happy and ily guys just don't be super salty about it. I feel so bad for some authors because some comments are so rude and mean and it's like over super small stuff that doesn't really matter. like CHILL. okay well I am gonna go party hard hahahaha jk I'm going to sleep ily all and I hope you enjoyed. PLEASE LEAVE ME COMMENTS
