AUTHOR'S NOTE!!

OMG. GUYS. 300 reads!

I know that in reality that isn't a lot, but that is so much to me. I started writing this thinking that no one would like it at all, so to see that there are that many reads makes me so happy. Thank you guys so much, you're the best! 😘 Please comment if you like something in the story or if you like it, it really means a lot to me, even if it's one person. I have felt like crap before and updated just because someone commented how much they loved the story. That kind of stuff means so much, so thanks. 💘 well anyway, enjoy the chapter. ITS AN EXCITING ONE 😁

Jack's POV

I was beyond nervous for my date with Ava. I never had feelings like this for girls. What was happening?!

There was just something about her that keeps me coming back for more.

I decided that I was going to have a romantic night at the park. I had a blanket set out, candles, food, and a dozen daisies waiting for her. I guessed that they were her favorite since a lot of her clothing had them on it.

I was wearing a purple button up with khakis and my black vans. The sun was already setting, and I was freaking out. What if she's allergic to flowers? What if she hates candles? What if she has a phobia of blankets?

After I calmed myself down, I realized that most of that wasn't even possible. I had known Ava for almost a month now, and I was finally going to ask her to be my girlfriend. I'm never that type of person, but everything just felt so different around her. It was like all time stopped.

That is exactly how I felt when I saw her car pull into the park. My heartbeat increased as I saw her hop out and start walking towards me.

Ava's POV

As I walked up to Jack a smile spread across my face. He looked extremely handsome. Oh god, I hope I look okay. I was wearing a navy loose dress with a beige cardigan over it. My hair was in loose waves and I made sure to put on my 'special occasion perfume', aka my PINK body spray. That stuff smelled like literal jesus.

When I got up to Jack he stood up and hugged me. We exchanged hello's and he looked down at me.

"You look gorgeous," He said with a small tint of crimson splashed across his face. Mine immediately mimicked his.

"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself, though." I said with a wink. we both laughed and sat down on the blanket. I slid off my rainbows and looked over to him.

"How have you been this week? I missed you," I said with a pouting face. Jack insisted that we wouldn't see each other the week of our date so that it wouldn't take away from it's meaning. I thought it was cute so I agreed.

"It was okay, but it is much better now that I am here with you." He smiled. I blushed and looked down giggling.

After talking about the most random things and laughing uncontrollably, we ate a little and decided to go for a walk. I made Jack blow out the candles so we wouldn't be the culprits of a forest fire. I left my shoes there because I prefer to be barefoot most of the time.

We walked over to the swings and sat down.

"So, are you ready for school?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I dunno, I'm kinda nervous. Everyone seems to have so much drama here and I'm not really into that kind of stuff." I replied honestly.

"Well as long as you hang out with the right people," (he said while pointing to himself) "You'll be set. Don't worry, I will make sure to watch your back. No one will do anything to you."

I smiled at his comment and nodded. I was really beginning to develop feelings for him.

Wait? Was I? Do I really like the "player"?

Yes. Yes I do.

We sat there in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. After a while, I felt his stare. I turned my head to look at him.

"What?" I laughed out.

"Nothing, you're just gorgeous." He smiled. I smiled and looked down, trying to hide the blushing.

"Ava? Can I ask you a question?" He said shyly. I looked him in the eye and smiled.

"You can ask me anything,"

"Listen, uh, I really like you, like a lot. I was wondering if you, uh, wanted to be my girlfriend?" He said with a half smile. I smiled and it quickly faded.

"Y-You don't have to, I mean-" He started.

"No no no, Jack. I would love to. I'm just worried about you. I don't want you to, you know.." I interrupted. He got up from his swing and crouched down in front of me.

"Ava, I swear to you, I will never hurt you. That's a promise."

"Well then, I guess there is only one answer to give you." I said with a smile.

"And what's that?" He said smirking. All I had to do was lean forward an inch and he knew what it was. I kissed him with every emotion I was feeling. Excitement, happiness, nervousness, and helplessness.

I pulled away and smiled at his expression. He looked so content. As if he was so happy to be with me right then and there. Why was he happy to be with me? I was so ordinary, nothing spectacular like the other girls around here. I was just me.

"Jack, can I ask you a question?" I said.

"Sure, what's up?"

"What made you choose me?" I asked. He laughed at my question.

"First off, I didn't choose you. I just simply pursued you. And secondly, well, do you want me to be honest with you?"

"Of course," I replied eagerly.

"Well when you were serving that night, that was when you first caught my eye. I will be completely honest and say that I was staring at your ass the entire time." He laughed out.

"Oh my gosh, Jack! You little pervert!" I said pushing his chest. He fell backwards and pulled me down with him, making us both laugh uncontrollably. I rolled on my back to look up at the stars. They were incredibly bright.

"Babe, you see that really bright one?" Jack said pointing. God, I loved hearing him call me babe.

"Yeah?" I questioned.

"That's your star."

I giggled. "Why is that one mine?" I asked.

"Because," He replied. "It's gorgeous, just like you. And out of allllll the stars in the sky, when I look up, that's the only one that I wanna look at. That's how I feel about you."

He rolled on his side and gave me the most genuine smile I had ever seen.

"You're pretty amazing, you know that right?" He asked me. I shook my head.

"Jack, there is nothing interesting about me. I'm completely normal," I said.

"Oh Ava," He replied. "You have so much to learn. And most of it is about yourself."
