It didn't really hit me that Jack had cheated on me until I was alone with my thoughts. That's when the tears came.
I sat in my hotel room crying for the next two days, not taking any food that Hayes and Matt basically tried to shove down my throat.
"Aves, you have to eat." Matt said as he was crouched down next to the bed. He had brought me a slice of pizza from Aaron's room where mostly everyone was eating.
"I'm not hungry. I'm still full from lunch that Hayes brought me," I lied.
"Hayes said you didn't eat the lunch he brought you." He replied with his eyebrows raised. I rolled my eyes.
"Regardless, I'm not hungry."
He let out a sigh and pushed a piece of hair behind my ear.
"I'm sorry this happened to you."
"Me too," I replied quietly. "Me too."
After much convincing, Matt finally left to go hang out with the rest of the guys. Now was my time.
I grabbed my laptop and quickly found a plane ticket back to Omaha. I already had it all planned out with my mom. I told her about Jack and how my life majorly sucks right now and that I honestly just wanted to go home. This was all true, of course.
I booked my flight and quickly tucked my laptop away when I heard the door creak open.
"Hey, uh, Aves? Jack is coming." Matt said worriedly as he paced into the room.
My eyes went wide. I grabbed my phone and looked at myself in the camera. Jesus, after all this boy has done to me I still think I have to look good for him.
"Get him to leave!" I yelled. I quickly pulled my head under the covers when I heard another pair of footsteps come through the door.
"Is she asleep?" I heard him ask Matt.
"Uh, yeah," He said. "I tried to bring her food but she's been passed out."
Good cover, Matt.
Jack let out a loud sigh.
"Just tell me when she wakes up, alright?"
With that, I heard him leave the room. I slowly pulled the blanket away from my face.
"What do you think he wanted?" I asked in a quiet voice. He shrugged.
"I dunno."
My heart still hurt from hearing his voice. From knowing that he was in the same room as me.
"Matt, will you lay with me?" I asked.
He nodded his head before slipping off his shoes and jumping under the covers with me. I cuddled close to him.
"If I tell you something, will you promise not to tell anyone or stop me?" I whispered.
"It depends what it is." He said.
"I'm going back to Omaha."
I felt his breathing stop for a moment before quickly continuing.
"When?"
"My flight leaves tomorrow."
He let out a sigh.
"Well, I'm not letting you go alone. Book my ticket."
