Derek's POV

I think I screwed up with Chris I was taking to a different lunch table with my friends with their girlfriends today. Chris looked so hurt when I left to be with them I sneak a peek at him he looked so sad the only, kissed we shared was at his Christmas party it was amazing his lips were so, soft and kissable. We kissed outside so no one could bother us it was my first kiss I've shared with a guy my parents knew that I was gay they were fine with it I came out to them last year crying afraid they wouldn't accept me but they did. My parents loved me for who I am no matter what happens nothing changed between us I'm glad it didn't we ate dinner together but when they were busy with work I would make me some ramen or have leftover pizza, I sighed looking at my phone nothing from Chris since we spoke in the library that afternoon I had went to see him before basketball practice it didn't go very good at all. I screwed up more, than before I ran a hand through my blonde hair it was starting to get long I'll have to ask mom to get me a hair appointment I decided to call my sister she's 21 in college and decided to move to Florida she was here for Christmas break and we're going to go visit her during spring break we're leaving as soon as school ends so I have to have everything already packed I decided to get together some stuff so I wouldn't have to rush just some clothes, my books, games, and money I laid back down and sighed heavily it was pretty late so I didn't bother messaging my sis I just shut off my phone and turned over falling asleep into a restless deep sleep.

The next morning

The sound of my alarm I groaned waking up good thing it was Friday I got ready for school and checked my,phone for messages from Chris. But there were none only some from my friends I texted them telling them I'll be visiting my sister for Spring break, I walked downstairs sitting down eating breakfast with my parents it was quiet until my mom spoke ", David honey is everything okay? You looked upset when you came home yesterday from school" . Yeah mom I'm fine I was just tired that's all" , Are you sure?" Yes mom I'm fine please don't worry" , Alright then sweetie let me know if something is bothering you okay?" . Okay mom don't worry I will" After that conversation was over with, I finished breakfast then went to school I saw Chris out of the corner of my eye he looked happy with his friends I wish I could have talked to him but I decided it would, be best for us to not see each other for a while I wanted, to give him some time to forgive me. I went with my friends instead Chris and I had classes together but I sat a bit further from him it was almost time for school to be let out for Spring Break hopefully things will go back to normal between us once, I get back it was lunch time I was zoned out while everyone else around me was talking it wasn't until my best friend Alex called my name "Derek are you okay? You look like something is on your mind I'm surprised that you're not sitting at the table with Chris" Alex was the only one who knew I had a crush on Chris he was bi but he didn't dare make a move on him. " Oh yeah I'm find just can't wait until I go see my sister that's all" I faked a smiled Alex looked at me unsure then he nodded his head ", Well alright if you need anything dude just ask I'm here for you" I nodded then went back to thinking about Valentine's Day how Chris and I had an amazing time I sighed knowing I'll never have a date with him ever again.

Time skip to after school

Finally, school was out for spring break everyone left school in a hurry to get started on their plans I waved bye to my friends I saw Chris looking at me then he typed something I was confused, at first but I heard a buzzing sound on my phone I grabbed it from my pocket it was a text from Chris it said "Have a great Spring Break <3" My eyes widen he texted me finally! I was smiling like a idiot as I got into the car with my parents and we drove off the to go see my sister I was still smiling.
