"i messed up"

It had been approximately fourty-five minutes since the incident. The image of your body falling replayed over and over again in Peter Parker's mind like a broken record. There was no way to stop what had happened now, and there was no way to stop it then. Why couldn't he just have said no?

The avengers had gone out to run errands and attend important meetings and the only rule given to you and Peter was to stay back and not leave the building. The order was given by Tony, who just happened to be your dad. At first, the two of you considered the rule but were quick to decide staying inside would be boring.

You two watched the windows like hawks, waiting patiently as each adult had left the house and was out of sight.

"Let's go to the roof," Peter smirked at you, knowing you didn't want to sit around all day either. "I'm taking my suit."

You and Peter had a crush on eachother for the longest time, neither committing to an actual relationship due to Tony and his eagle eye on his daughter. You had hesitated as you knew your dad would punish you both if he knew you had disobeyed him, but Peter's smirk and offer was too tempting.

"I'll meet you there, Spider-Man."

Those words after they'd left your mouth caused a huge smile to spread across Peter's face once you had left to retrieve your new suit. He knew that something was about to happen, he just didn't know it would be terrible.

You two had been playing around in your suits for an hour when you had noticed a bunch of new buttons and technology on your sleeve that were completely foreign to you. Your curiosity had gotten the better of you, and even though Peter had advised you not to play around with it, you couldn't help yourself. Many of the buttons seemed to be disarmed of their abilities.

You couldn't lie, you felt a bit jealous watching Peter as he played around in his suit. None of his abilities seemed to be disabled.

"Hey Peter!" You called out to him but he was too focused on tweaking his web shooter to reply.

"How strong are those webby-thingys?"

He was both confused in your proposal and new title for his web shooters. You saw his lips purse in disappointment and he dropped his attention to turn towards you. "Excuse me?"

You laughed at his mixed features and slowly strode towards him. Something about being on the roof made you feel rebellious and fearless, and you surprised yourself when you said your next words:

"I want you to hold me up as I dangle over the edge and see what it's like to be the amazing spiderboy."

He furrowed his eyebrows, "you want me to dangle you over the edge?"
