The problem with self-righteousness is that it seems almost impossible to recognize it in ourselves. We will own up to almost any other sin but not the sin of self-righteousness. When we have this attitude, though, we deprive ourselves of the joy of living in the grace of God. Because you see, grace is only for sinners. ~Jerry Bridges

The blue-eyed angel cringed at the sound of Alastair's agonizing screams, his hands leaning on the edge of a silver table. Castiel was conflicted, part of him believed to a certain extent they really did need the information out of Alastair while the other part didn't like making Dean do the dirty work and didn't think the information was so important since it had come to this.

Despite the Winchester's sarcastic comments and feisty attitude, he respected Dean and was quite fond of him. He didn't like that he put him in his position but he didn't have a choice. At least that's what the angel thought.

The lights started to flicker, catching the attention of Castiel who looked up. The bulb blew out and Anna and Nadia appeared behind the angel who immediately was aware of their presence. "Anna. Nadia."

"Hello, Castiel." Anna greeted the angel, having not seen him in awhile.

Castiel glanced back at the two, surprised to see the redhead still in her vessel. "Your human body—"

"It was destroyed, I know." Anna walked toward him with Nadia by her side. "But I guess I'm sentimental. Called in some old favors and. . ."

Alastair's screams became more audible, grabbing the girls attention.

"Dean. . ." Nadia had a worried look in her eyes, her heart disappointed that they were actually able to push him into doing this.

"You shouldn't be here." Castiel still had his back faced toward the two. "We still have orders to kill you."

"Somehow I don't think you'll try." Anna walked around the table so Castiel could finally look at her. "Where's Uriel?"

"He went to receive revelation."

The redheaded angel had a look of suspicion in her eyes. "Right."

"Cas," Nadia made the angel look at her. "Why are you letting Dean do this?"

The scowl on Castiel's face showed that he didn't really want to talk about it. They could practically see the guilt all over the angel. He turned away from them, not even able to look them in the eyes. "He's doing God's work."
