His Odd Realization

He looked at me and realized
That I was unchanging
- my brain would stay navigating
The same way,
day after day, after day.

And he thought, 'who would want to eat the same food everyday?' ,
So he rather stuck his various foods - his various girls.
And then he dropped me, just left me broken, left me crying on the curb.

Weeks went by, and he was still unperturbed by my constant begging and pleading.

Months went by, and he was still unperturbed by my constant sadness of him leaving
- well aware that I was still grieving.

And as years went by, I knew that I had to let go.
And as I just went wherever life took me, everything became better.
Everything became clear again.

One night changed everything.
It was absolutely storming outside, and the hail had to put it's word in too.

A knock sounded around where I was sat on the sofa,
And I got up, edging towards the door with caution, getting ever closer.

I opened it and he swaggered inside, bloodied and blistered.
And as I just stared at this man in astonishment,
I knew that his banishment
From my life was over,
And I had to welcome him in with open arms
- and just ignore the loud ringing alarms
Resounding in my head.
