"I know exactly who can help you."

We all looked at him, awaiting an answer.

"Me!"

We entered a modest little shop on the corner of two streets I couldn't remember the name of. It was filled with amazing suits and beautiful, intricate dresses.

"Wow. Did you make these?"

Herc seemed very amused that I was so amazed.

"Ha! I wish. I helped with most of them but I'm only a tailor's apprentice."

I ran my hand along the fabrics of some of the dresses. They were softer than I expected.

"Pick whichever one you want."

I spun so fast I made myself a little dizzy.

"Whichever one I want? Like, anything? I can choose any dress in here?"

His booming laugh filled the small area.

"Of course. Your our friend now, and friends help each other."

Happiness flowed through my body. I was practically bouncing up and down!

I can't believe this. I'm friends with Hercules Mulligan, John Laurens, Alexander Hamilton and Marquis de Lafayette!

I searched through the whole store before settling on a dress. It was dark blue with a simple design, long sleeves and a relatively poofy skirt. It was simple, soft and comfortable.

I needed some help trying it on, but luckily there was another woman there working who showed me how to lace the... c-cors... I don't know. Weird squeezy bra thing, and then the dress. I let my hair stay down since I didn't know how to do it all fancy and I didn't have to tools to try.

When I walked out, everyone was staring at me. It was weird.

"You look beautiful, mademoiselle."

"Why thank you, Lafayette."

Everyone mumbled agreements and helped me pick out a few spare dresses, as well as night gowns, shoes and other extra things.

It wasn't until I had everything in bags to help me carry it all that I realized a slight problem.

"Wait, how am I going to pay for this?"

Herc handed me the last bag.

"You don't have to this time."

"But I have to give you something! I can't just take all of this."

"Really, it's okay."

I thought for a moment before reaching up on my tippy toes and leaving a kiss on his cheek.

"It's all I have, but it's something at least."

He smiled at me.

"That's plenty."

I held the bags in m hands and practically ran out the door. I wanted to see the city and meet all the people!

The group had to jog to catch up. I was standing on the side of the street looking at everything there was to see. Signs, carriages, buildings, everything there was in sight.

Freckles was the first one to reach my side.

"Where to first, Miss?"

I kept looking. There was to much to see and to little time.
