I socked him in the jaw and kneed his stomach before he could continue. He fell to the ground and I walked away, leaving him writhing in pain. The was starting to rise by now. I couldn't imagine a better way to start of the day.

(Y/n)'s point of viewBy the time the sun had risen above the horizon, the camp was bustling with busy people. The medical tent was crammed and I noticed the tents where people "lived" in were less full than before.
Washington must have gotten back last night and I never noticed in the dark when I was at the shooting range.
I was walking towards the general's tent when Alex exited. He had bags under his eyes and a look of disgust in his face.
I walked up to him, ignoring the warning signs that he didn't want to talk to anyone.
"Alex, what happened?"
He growled something inaudibly.
"Alexander, speak up."
He glared at me, but what he was told.
"General Lee. He's an idiot! Do you know how many people died because of his incompetence?"
I groaned.
"Why he was ever made general is beyond me."
He nodded his head in agreement.
"I had a run in with him this morning. Let's just say he's probably pissed at me."
Alex actually looked at me with an expression other than hate or annoyance. He was concerned.
"What happened?"
I shrugged my shoulders.
"He was bugging me, so I punched him."
He actually laughed. Busy, stressed out Alexander actually laughed.
"Sometimes I wish I had your confidence."
I chuckled.
"No you don't. My "confidence" is also what gets me in trouble."
I put my hand on his back and led him to the tent.
"Get in there and don't leave until you've gotten some sleep."
He looked to tired to argue, so he disappeared into the tent. I wanted to join him, but I had work to do.
I was walking over to the cafeteria when I someone pushed me against a post, similar to the one I punched last year.
"How dare you! You insignificant, worthless, devil woman!"
I smirked. It brought me joy to see Lee so distressed and pissed off.
"Looks like I'm really getting under your skin, huh? The great General Lee bothered by some worthless devil woman."
His arm presses harder against me, sending splinters into my back.
