"Call me every day, alright? If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. Tony will hook you up."

"Banner, chill out. I'm not five years old anymore, alright?"

"I know... I just got attached to you, that's all. No need to rub it in my face, sparkle tits."

Bruce and I stood in front of international customs at JFK Airport very early in the morning. With me, I carried nothing but a backpack and an empty bottle of water, along with my passport and a one-way plane ticket to Mexico City.

"You know, you're the only one allowed to call me that," I said, "don't ever refer to me as such in the vicinity of others. Especially not Tony. I implore you."

I smiled brightly at my friend, who at first wanted nothing to do with my plans of traveling down south by myself. I told him I'd always wanted to see more of the world but had never been able to do so and had told him now would be the perfect time.

After the two of us got back from Asgard, SHIELD had immediately taken us in, providing us with the best medical care and a good night's sleep until both of us had had time we desperately needed to recover from our mind-boggling endeavor.

They cleared my name and generously provided me with a large sum of hush money, even though I would never tell anyone about my experiences on Sakaar and Asgard. Who would I tell?

Stephen and I maintained contact throughout it all, even though I knew I couldn't go back to the Sanctum Sanctorum forever. It wouldn't feel right to continue living where I did before all of this happened, especially considering I felt like a completely different person because of it. I actually wanted to do something with my life now, participate in society instead of sitting inside my room, surrounded by stacks of books riddled with ancient texts about mysticism and occultism.

SHIELD had tried to get me to join them at first, telling me I would do great in their organization and make a great member of the team, but my powers hadn't manifested since my return to earth, and I was afraid they were gone for good. I'd been taken in for several tests over the course of almost five months, everything from blood and urine tests to MRIs, CAT scans, X-rays, and even psychiatric evaluations to try and bring something to the surface.

Whether or not my power was completely gone, I couldn't tell for sure, but for now, it refused to let itself show. No more headaches, no more feelings of utter panic and despair, and most importantly, no more hurting innocent people. I could finally say I felt normal, and I loved every bit of it.

Slowly but surely, Bruce and I managed to get our lives back on track. I opted for college at first but figured I lacked all the credentials I needed to get into a decent school and, besides, I hadn't quite decided on what exactly it was that I wanted to do yet, so instead of enrolling myself into university, I decided I would travel around first so I could make up my mind.
