Can We Find A New Beginning?

Chapter 2

"Lex? Leeeeex?" Skylar shook me from my thoughts.

"Shit, sorry, Sky... again." I said.

"You need to stop zoning out so much. What were you thinking about?" she asked.

I smiled. "Just the first time I met you."

I protectively wrapped my arms around her waist as I felt her tense up.

"Hey, it's okay. We didn't know each other. Plus, I ruined your camera." I added.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"I love you." she whispered in my ear.

"I love you too."

I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers.

"Ewww!! Stop! It hurts my eyes!" Jack screeched.

By then, everyone was back in my living room, laughing at Jack's comment.

I grabbed a couch cushion that was next to me and chucked it at him, only making him laugh.

"One day you'll be in love, Barakat." Skylar said.

"Hm... I don't think so." Jack protested.

"I had that same thought about 4 years ago, now look at me!" I added.

Everyone laughed and Flyzik smirked at me.

Here we go again.

"I remember he didn't even want to talk to Sky when I told him she would be the photographer for the European Tour!" Matt said.

"In his defense, Alex was kind of scared of her when they first met." Jack laughed.

"Oh yeah, because Alex fucked up her camera! Damn, was she pissed!" Rian exclaimed.

"Not fair! I've already apologized for that like a million times!" Skylar shouted at Rian.

"Still, Sky, you were really pissed. It was adorable." Zack joined in.

Sky huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.

I chuckled and rubbed her back soothingly.

"Well, we should get going so these love birds can get some alone time." Cassadee interrupted, wiggling her eyebrows at Sky and I.

"Yup. Later Lex, Sky. Thank you guys for the fun night." Rian said as he took Cassadee's hand and walked out the door.

"We're leaving too." Matt said, referring to himself and the rest of the crew.

I nodded and waved goodbye while Sky hugged all of them.

"I guess we should go too, Jack." Zack said.

Jack pouted and threw a fit until Zack finally convinced him to leave.

As soon as everyone was out the door, I carried Sky bridal style and took her all the way upstairs, into our bedroom. I placed her gently on the bed and kissed her forehead.

"I'm going to shower, I'll be back." I said.

She smiled softly and crawled under the sheets.

I showered in less than 10 minutes and returned to the bedroom to see that Skylar was already asleep. She was sleeping on my side of the queen size bed, hugging a pillow. I laughed silently and crawled into bed with her. I removed the pillow from her embrace and wrapped her arms around me as I wrapped my own arms around her waist. She automatically cuddled into my chest and I rested my chin on her head.
