Ganondorf awoke in a daze, he heard a groan nearby. Shakily, he moved his head up to see a Y/S on the ground. He mumbled a small curse under his breath steadying himself on to his feet. He walked over to the person who was now rubbing his head in order to sooth himself. He coughed into his hand, purposely, to get the attention of the Y/S.
Said being gasped and looked up, letting Ganondorf know that it was actually a young teenaged girl. She had E/C eyes that matched well with her S/C skin. (Ignore if you don't have hair) Her hair was a H/C mess, the short/long strands went every which way.
She stood up quickly and gave a sheepish smile whilst rubbing her neck.
"Sorry 'bout that. Didn't see you there." She apologized. He rolled his eyes.
"You should be more careful. If I had my weapon I would've killed you." He warned giving her a glare.
"Yeah, so the rock doesn't count?" He gave her a confused look. She gestured to the sharp rock that landed near where he blacked out. He shook dismissive of her claim about a measily rock being any proper weapon, he then asked,
"Who are you? What are you doing out here? This is no place for a girl." He commented making her glare at him
"Well then Ginger, the names Y/N, and I was on a hunt, a hunt I was more than capable of handling." She spat out.
"My name is not Ginger, it's Ganondorf." He snarled. The face he made told her to be afraid, and she was. She stepped back and picked up her spear he had yet to notice.
"Well then, I'll be hunting the beast then. Goodbye." She said turning around sharply.
"Beast?" He asked concerned. She grinned to herself but put on a shocked face as she turned around.
"Oh? Don't you know, there's a great and terrible Beast out in these woods." She circled him as she continued.
"It's got dark, wiry hair. Teeth, sharp and yellow. The eyes, a dark and somber brown, though some claim they're truly red." She started climbing a hill up into the woods, Ganondorf tried to keep up but she must've known the woods well enough to traverse them without much care.
"Is it dangerous!?" He asked shaken.
"Nobody knows. But the fact that the hunters who dare try to trap it don't return is concerning." She said from an unknown location. He followed the sound of her voice, his camp forgotten.
"Do you need help? This beast sounds like a small team should be able to track it." He said hiding his worry.
"Hmm, I don't know. Outsiders are known to be the most hated thing by the beast." She explained.
"Well I'm not afraid." He said puffing out his chest. " A king is never afraid." She looked at him from beyond the tree line, unbeknownst to him, she creeped towards him.
"The Beast is said to split the groups up, one by one. And then eat 'em, one by one." She got closer, doing a fox walk towards the boy. His security as a well trained 13 year old began to dwindle. His mind racing of thoughts about this 'Beast'.
"Do you still plan to hunt it?" She asked. He shook his head out of his scary thoughts.
"O-of course!" He said proudly.
"Well then hunt it."
Ganondorf heard running behind him and turned around quickly only to be jump scared by Y/N. He yelled and fell flat on his back as she laughed manically.
"Never in my life have I seen a reaction like that!" She laughed loudly. He growled in annoyance and lunged at her, tackling her to the ground. She yelped and stood back up.
This went on for a while, back and forth the two fought. It was an even match to Ganondorf's surprise. Eventually both collapsed under a tree, catching their breaths.
"You're mad." Ganondorf said looking towards the young Y/S.
She gave a tired smile back and replied."Well you're crazy going this way." He gave her a questioning look.
"Why? Is it because of the beast?" He asked in a fake scared tone.
"Well, that. And the fact that you're a Gerudo right? If so you're awfully close to Hyrule. Aren't your two kingdoms... fighting or something?"
"I am a Gerudo, but we aren't fighting, we're just not on the best terms at the moment. That's why I'm going there."
"So you're a peace offering." She said blankly. Not giving away the mission, he lied.
"Well I'm planning to be a guard there, it's so we can..... build trust between our nations."
She turned on her side and looked him in his golden eyes.
"You're pretty nice to do something like that. Spend your life away as a guard just so your kingdom can have peace. Unlike me, I'd rather be free.... uncle Jacque would've liked to meet you."
"Who's he?"
"My Uncle, he lived in a big town of Y/S's. He gave his life protecting the villagers within the crossfire of a battle." Her eyes watered, but she didn't let him see.
"So.... I believe you mentioned you were hunting a beast?" He said changing the subject to ease the sudden tension. She flashed a smile.
"Oh, yeah that...... I lied." She blankly stated.
"What!? You scared me for nothing!?" She smiled and sat up.
"No biggie, just go home you'll be fine." He looked around.
"I have a camp." He corrected
"Then go there."
"I..... lost track of it." He said looking away and blushing.
Y/N looked up and saw the orange sky.
"Well you're welcome to stay with us." She offered
"There's more of you?"
"What? Did you think I, an 'incapable' girl, just lived in the woods by myself?" She asked sarcastically cocking an eyebrow. He looked away slowly. She grumbled and got up.
"Well I cant leave you here after dark, plus you can then have some real food." She smiled. His stomach immediately grumbled at the thought of food, real food, not the half raw meat he had been throughout the past two months. She helped him up and showed him through a slight path that lead to her home and family.
Next chapter...... probably not soon.......
