5 More Minutes

We had been riding for a few hours. I could just see the sun rise over one of the hills when me and Killorin decided to sleep to rest our sore backs.

I could see my steed munch on the grass surrounding us before I closed my eyes. I was secretly terrified that I would find the sight of the calamity in my dreams.

Instead I felt a large hand subtly stroking my head. I looked up and saw I was in a familiar dark room with embers as the flooring. Then again everything's been familiar as of late. I saw I was working the lap of the same fiery red headed man I've always seen. His entire frame was warm and it gave me goosebumps. He smiled down at me, almost lovingly.

"How long has it been dear?" He asked softly in his deep, melancholy voice. "How long since I've been able to hold you like this?" I just say and listened as the deep rumbles his voice made me sleepy.

"I don't think we've been in this position ever since I was a god. And you, you were my precious little fire stoker." He ran his large fingers through my hair. His body was a like a bed I would've refused to get out of in the winter morning. He lifted me up slightly and planted a scorching hot kiss on my forehead. I smiled at the feeling. The feeling was nothing less than sleeping in front of a warm fireplace. I reached up and snaked my arms around his neck. He held my back and kept me there for a long while.

"I love you Y/N." He spoke almost sleepily.

I leaned back and looked at him into his yellow eyes.

"I can't say I know you all that well." I spoke softly as to not hurt his feelings.

"Well as I promised, I'll spend every lifetime I have trying to get you to remember me. No matter how many times you forget." He nuzzled our noses together and I was covered by an umbrella of his long fluffy red hair. I stared up at him, the heat forced blush to my face.

"I want to remember you. And I do. Somewhat. But I can't remember anything more than your face." I placed my hand on his cheek, this time he snuggled into it. "Please tell me what we were like." I begged. He smiled and held my hand on his cheek and proceeded to place me to properly sit in his crossed legs.

"Once upon a time, when the legend of Hylia and her hero of time had just begun in their most godly forms, a great king had taken his seat on his throne. He had the gifts of a god himself, his name was Demise. His power had gotten him respect, it had gotten him an entire religion with subjects from across the land. Within this group, a couple had given birth to a baby girl. They raised this girl without much love, just a purpose. When she had finally reached the age of 17 she was offered to the king as a gift. After accepting it had taken years for her to get to his realm. Once she was in his arms she had reached the age of 21. It was apparent the young woman was broken, and so the king tried fixing her. He gave her gifts, he tried giving her a stable home, in the end he gave her all of himself. His soul, and his heart. It had worked, the girl was whole, and they were forever intertwined."

He ended his tale by caressing my cheek.

"How did it end? How did we end?" I asked hopeful.

"Not happily, my lovely fire stoker." He went on to explain in a deep, sad tone. "With the kings rule, he was overthrown by the goddess's hero. His head was split in two." He hugged me to his chest tightly. "And I could not protect you nor do I know what happened to you. I tried finding you but-" He stopped himself. I placed my hand back on his cheek and he looked down at me, I noticed the tiny tears forming in his eyes.

"You've found me now. I feel whole again." He smiled, but it seemed forced.

"Yes, but the only thing left of me is an old rocky shell with nothing but a beast inside." He explained. I leaned up and kissed his other cheek.

"If you always find me, don't you think it's my turn?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. He looked shocked but eventually wore a sweet smile.

"Always so persistent." He leaned into my face, he hugged me once again but kissed me simultaneously. His lips were soft, and warm on my own. It was quick, but it left the warmest feeling I had ever felt. I was left snuggling into his warm chest, his long hair draped over his and my shoulders. He stroked my back creating more goosebumps,

"I think it's time for you to wake up love."

"Five more minutes." I mumbled into his chest. His chuckle reverberated through his body and sadly, that's what woke me up.

I opened my eyes to the sun high in the sky. The air felt warm and dry, but I knew I needed to find Ganondorf now. I had to make it up to him.

I jumped up and called out to Killorin.

"Come one sleeping beauty!" I yelled, "We gotta get going!" I mounted my brown steed and galloped off, leaving a dazed and rushing Killorin.
