Stoking the Love

It had been two weeks since Y/N had started to come around to her once captor now saviour. Ganondorf couldn't of been happier. He believed the kiss she gave him, whilst short and upon his head, had meant that there was a chance for something else to blossom there instead of this. Because for the past two weeks Y/N had indeed engaged in friendly and meaningful conversations, however she had never granted him another mind numbing kiss to him.

He told himself it was because she was still adjusting to her new home. She was still a bit hung up on the fact she had basically created a war between Hylians and the City if the desert. The man knew this was not the case anymore as it had been two weeks and he had not seen Y/N so happy. Despite wanting more, more than this odd 'friendship', he was in no position to push it; that and he was terrified too. He didn't dare push you with anything, scared it would push you away from him again. He visited you everyday which surprisingly, to him, didn't make you annoyed or angry with him. It was a tiresome task of walking to the other side of the city everyday, but it was where you had decided to live in a large house shared by several other housemates.

He did not like the idea of it at first, mostly because the neighborly playboy was within those walls. But he calmed down once he knew you'd be sharing a room with three other girls. You had also managed to land a decent job, a stall cleaner. It was a job Ganondorf would never do himself, but it was a job you didn't mind as you whistled a little tune and did your job.

Ganondorf stopped walking as he heard this tune being whistled not too far from him. He saw Y/N there, stacking hey into a newly cleaned stall. He smiled at her and waved once she noticed him. She stopped working and walked up to him.

"This feels familiar." She said with a smile as she stopped in front of him.

"What does? The fact your job includes horses or the fact that I'm here distracting you from it?" They both shared a small laugh. But then she looked down. He immideitly began to form apologetic words in his mind in case he had hurt her.

"Any news on the others?" She spoke with confidence that betrayed her expression. He felt guilt as he had obviously, though unintentionally, bought up her past along with the plan he had discussed with her about rescuing the others that lived in her town. He sighed and she did not speak as he did, hanging off his every word.

"We have not been able to locate the prisoners. It appears they were relocated after the fire." Y/N took a deep, calming breath. She forced a smile and spoke.

"Well tell me if I'm ever needed." Ganondorf smiled and held her cheek incredibly softly.

"You're needed here." He spoke almost lovingly. Y/N blushed and gave a somewhat awkward smile. She knew Ganondorf held his feelings high for her, but she was still unsure of moving forward with the man known as a thief. Deep down she wanted nothing more than to be held closely by him like all those times he had saved her, and ever since he has treated her like an adult, not a young woman that needs to be cared for and rescued every five minutes. Still, his past had warned her not to simply give her love to him because they both wanted too. His love for her was like a fire, a fire in a much brighter shade of scarlet than his hair, a fire she knew could burn her if she did not get the flames to settle down and slowly warm up to him. It was much like getting into a bath that was far too hot. She needed to get used to the feeling and then decide if it was too much or not. So that's what she did, she waited, and waited. She kept his flames from rising up and harming them both, and stoked them enough to keep them from dwindling out and leaving him freezing, a state of mind she did not wish to let him fall into, not like she had.

In the end she decided not to hold his large hand upon her cheek, but she snuggled into the warm flesh and took in his dusty, spicy scent.
