Ryan and Chad entered the Auditorium side by side, but no longer holding hands. This, however, did not stop the knowing looks that came from Troy, Gabriella, and Kelsey.

Gabriella was finishing up practicing with the freshman that played her love interest and Troy was in the background, pretending not to be jealous. Troy glanced up when he heard the doors close, and grinned.

Gabriella gave Chad and Ryan a small smile - similar to one a mother would give her children - before going back to the scene she was practicing.

Kelsey, however, wasn't paying attention to the scene. Instead she was grinning outrageously, proud of herself. And the boys, of course.

She was the only one that payed enough attention to the two boys - now making heir way to the stage - to notice the slightly ruffled hair, sweat dripping down their foreheads, and red, slightly swollen lips.

Sharply sent a confused and angry look at the two, and elbowed the small brunette next to her to pay attention, causing the girl to yelp and snap back to the scene playing out in front of her.

Ryan sighed internally, that was going to be one hell of a conversation. 'Hey sister of mine, remember that guy you warned me not to go after and I lied and said I didn't even like him? The one that's best friends with the guy you like that doesn't like you back? Well, we kind of have a date tonight, ok byyyye!'

Yeah, ok, probably not like that.

The two were on the stage now, and were just about to find a quiet corner to read over their lines together, when Kelsey called Chad's name.

The brunet gave Ryan an apologetic look - getting a smile and head nod in return - before taking off to the opposite side of the stage where Kelsey and Sharpay were waiting patiently - well, impatiently, in Sharpay's case.

He strolled up to the girls, raising an eyebrow in question. "Well it's about time." Sharpay huffed, and Chad once again tried to remind himself of all the things Ryan told him about his sister.

'It's just a front, she's actually really self conscious'

'Well they did steal her role'

'She's under a lot of pressure'

He tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, he really did, but it was hard when she acted so damn entitled.

Kelsey shot her a look, but turned back to the basketball player without a word to the blonde. "We need you for the next scene. The, um..." She looked behind Chad momentarily, causing him to glance over his shoulder to see Ryan looking just as confused as he was.

Kelsey cleared her throat experimentally, and went to talk when Sharpay interrupted her, "We're doing the kiss scene, ball head."

Ball head was the great nickname the Evans sister had given Chad after him and Ryan started to hang out more, and quite frankly it sounded like a n innuendo-

Chad's train of through stopped suddenly upon processing what the blonde had just said.

He glanced to Kelsey, who gave him an apologetic look.
