"Taylor!"

Gabriella called out as she approached her friend's locker, desperate to get her thoughts out before the next period.

"Hey Gab, what's up?" Taylor greeted casually, slinging her bag onto her shoulder as she closed her locker.

Gabriella had just finished talking to Troy - or more, him talking to her - about Chad, and she needed to talk about it with her best friend before her next class.

She knew she would have to run to class, but she also knew that if she didn't do this now, her thoughts would drive her nuts, sitting in that quiet classroom in the uncomfortable plastic chair.

"You know that thing we were talking about- about Chad?"

Taylor's face grew more serious as she positioned her body to better face her friend, without putting them in the way of the clank ring students hurrying to class.

"Well Troy was just asking about Chad, and-"

"Wait." Gabriella was cut off by the chocolate-skinned brunette in front of her, whose eyes had widened in shock and worry. "You didn't tell him what we thought, right?" Gabriella quickly shook her head no, and Taylor relaxed.

"No! But I just-" The girl sighed, fiddling with her 'T' charm necklace once again. "Well for starters I told him to ask Chad himself, but I don't know if that was a good idea..." She trailed off, looking to her friend for guidance.

Taylor nodded. "That seems ok enough, I mean he is his friend. His best friend, even. If something really is wrong Troy should be able to help- or he can at least try."

Gabriella nodded back, "Riiight, but if what we think is happening - really is happening, and Troy keeps pestering Chad about what's wrong with him - I mean, you know how stubborn he can be." Taylor hummed in response. She knew.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is- what if all of the questions push Chad further away? Or force him to admit something he isn't ready to talk about yet?" Normally Taylor would have laughed at her friends' unneeded cautious, worrisome, and unsure attitude, but she figured they were justified under the current circumstances.

After all, this was a delicate, and frankly, foreign territory. Sure, Taylor heard about situations like these and new people that had been in them, but never had she directly been involved in one. Especially one concerning her ex-boyfriend.

"Yeah, I get what you're saying, Gab, but maybe a friend to talk about that stuff with - if that is what is happening - is what Chad needs. And besides, Troy may be stubborn, but so is Chad.
Not to mention hard headed. If he really isn't ready, I'm sure he'll show it and knowing Troy, he'll back off."

Taylor smiled confidently at her reasoning, but didn't exactly feel the confidence her pearly whites reflected.

Gabriella opened her mouth to say something, but Taylor jumped in, already knowing what she was thinking before she even uttered a single syllable,

"And they're best friends, and have been for years. Even if they do argue, they'll bounce back."

She grinned as she began walking off, calling out behind her, "Not to mention, you've got yourself a smart boy!"

She turned around again to face her best friend, still standing back near her locker. "I'm sure if Chad doesn't tell him, he'll figure it out. Don't worry!"

And without another word, the brainiac was gone.

Gabriella couldn't help but to still feel nervous about the entire situation, besides the confidence Taylor had had in her words.

But without another thought, the girl was off.

A/N: I know I was gone for a bit, and this is short, but I'm just trying to write when inspiration strikes so the chapters are actually good! As you can see I'm trying some new formatting, and I'll probably go back and change the previous chapters to fit it, as well as some grammar and spelling mistakes I found while re reading earlier. Feel free to alert me if any yourself!
Btw, thanks for over 200 reads!! Woah!!
