LILAC'S POV

You finally arrive back at the island and immediately hop off Cheorviss.  You still need to explore some of the island, and you can do that while looking for dragons to tell about Conniston Village.  Not only is it interesting, but it's potentially important for them to know.

You wander around - a few dragons seem to be out scouting the area, but most are on the island.  You find Tris, Oberon, and Diamond first.  You know they like when you tell them stories, so you call them over, sit down, and start telling them what happened, in story form.

They fall asleep halfway through - either the story is actually really boring, or they've just had a long day.  You decide it's the second option and awkwardly try to bring them to their parents.

CIEREIN'S POV

You're starting to notice that the boy - maybe his name was Zircon?  You can't be bothered to remember his name, especially if he doesn't remember yours - has been acting different than usual.  More...polite, and a lot more tolerable, but also more distant.  You doubt he'd answer you if you asked why, but you do wonder.  He's never been like this before.

Maybe it's a human thing.

CHEORVISS'S POV

You think back to your conversation with Cierein, not all that long ago.  She definitely seemed like she had a grudge against humans.  Whether it was her dragon rider's fault or not, you don't know - that boy did seem like the main cause, though.

You're glad Lilac is different from Zircon, and you wonder what the dragon riders from the former colony here were like.  Lilac said Amily was apparently very kind, but that she didn't know much about either of the others.  It'd be interesting to meet them one day, but they're probably dead.

Author's Note: My mind says that Friend of the Dragons is almost finished, but on paper, there's still a lot to be done.  Don't worry, although I'm not sure when exactly Friend will be finished, there's still a lot of plot to come, and there will certainly be future stories.
