LILAC'S POV

As the dragons fly toward the island, you think you can see other dragons already on the island.  That probably won't go well.  "Wait!  There's other dragons there!"

As everyone is descending to go to the island, the wind is whipping past you fast, and it's hard to hear even your own words.  No one else except Tavnit hears you.

Tavnit tries to pass on the message, but even for a dragon, the wind is loud.  Your entire colony is there and flying toward the island, so it's inevitable for things to be loud.  So really, your efforts are in vain.

You can't help but wonder if that colony of dragons might be the attacking colony, and if so, what will happen.  Supposedly they had a dragon rider like you - maybe you can meet them and see what's going on and why they attacked your colony.

The first of the dragons from your colony lands and sees the other dragons.  He - a bulky male named Alzram - shouts for the other dragons in your colony.

Once everyone has landed - as quickly as possible, but with the large beasts that dragons are, that's not very quick - you hop off of Tavnit and look around.  The dragons from your colony look angry and vengeful, and you're getting more and more sure that these are the dragons that attacked your colony.

You spot the human in the midst of the commotion, yelling at the dragons to attack.  None of them are paying attention to him, and several are even pointedly ignoring him.

You walk up to him and pull him aside.  "You must be the human from this colony.  If I'm right, the dragon colony that attacked mine.  Were you in charge of the attack?"

"Huh?  No.  For some stupid reason, they don't listen to me.  They should, but they refuse to," the boy replies.  He looks around your age, maybe a bit older, and he's glaring at both colonies' dragons like all of them personally wronged him.

"You can't just..."  You trail off and sigh.  He's clearly not very experienced with dragons.  "Never mind, I'll explain what you're doing wrong later, when tensions aren't so high.  I'm Lilac.  Who are you?"

"Zircon," he replies, somewhat warily.  "What do you mean, 'what you're doing wrong'?  Dragons need to listen to humans!"

'This is going to be a project and a half...' you think, shaking your head slowly.
