"Who would like to welcome our new student into one of their groups?"
Adrianna watched as people instantly began fighting over her. She was still in 1st period English, and was lovin' school so far. "We'll take her!" said two girls. They looked popular, with expensive looking bags and perfect hair.
"But we already asked Mr. Tate!" It was 2 guys, one of them winked at her and the other flicked his tongue. Adrianna watched as most of the students continued to argue among themselves.
" Alright Alright! Quiet down! I see I'll have to pick for you." The whole class got quiet as Mr Tate scanned the room.
"Ah. A.J. and Dorine, raise your hands." A boy with a guitar strapped to his back and a girl with a flowery headband raised their hands. "Welcome Ms. Vicari to your group. Now everybody get to work."
Everyone watched Adrianna as she grabbed her things and headed towards A.J. and Dorine. As she made her way over, a hand grabbed her arm.
"I'm so sorry you have to work with those loser potheads," said one of the popular looking girls who had called dibs on her earlier.
"I'll be okay," Adrianna smiled and made it to the back of the class where the two sat.
"We're not really potheads," said the boy, A.J. "Speak for yourself. I'm stoned right now," The girl Dorine laughed. Adrianna giggled. "Well I'm not a pothead. I just hang around a lot of them, so I'm a pothead by association."
Adrianna smiled. She loved how he really didn't care what other people thought. "I'm Adrianna," she said. "I'm A.J. and this is Do-Do. Only teachers call her Dorine."
Do-Do was to busy smiling at the ceiling to further introduce herself. They both laughed. A.J. had black hair and blue eyes, and he looked like he could have been one of the popular type.
But his clothes were a different style than theirs. He wore white a t-shirt that had Van Goughs 'starry night' illustrated on it, and he had on rolled up jeans with a pair of toms and of course, that guitar on his back.
"You seem pretty nice to be one of them," he said fiddling with his pencil. "Uh, one of who?" Adrianna asked.
"A popular. I saw you with Leo and his crew this morning."
"Yeah, they were just welcoming me to the school. I'm not one of anything," Adrianna replied.
" Alright I believe you. But just be careful. I don't think Leo would be your type."
